How do you get your dog to listen? Chloe will not listen to me when it is time to go out, she get wants to run around the house I can't get her to stay no matter what I do. Do anybody have any Ideas how I can get her to listen?:aimeeyork |
Training with treats may help. When she does what she is suppose to treat her. You should get her attention that way. |
Ok thanks I will try that next time when she needs to go out. |
We don't know how old your baby is but, you have to train them to obey. Check out the traing section. God bless, you and yours. |
What has also helped with our Suzi is to be very consistent with the words your using , make them simple and easy enough for her to learn. When i take my 2 outside and it is time to come in all I have to say Is In the house! Suzi is a lot more responsive then our shih tzu.. Yorkies are really smart, they just can be a bit stubborn. POsitive reinforcement and a little treat really does work well. |
I have the opposite problem Thor does not want to come back in and gives me grief. I have done the treats and that does work but he is one St urn little man. |
I hate spell check! |
Training :) Look into clicker training/positive reinforcement. Or some local classes near you. Training makes for a easier to live with dog, IMO :) |
When I took my Bichon boy to obedience classes, the first thing they taught was "focus." Hold a treat between your fingers and put them in front of your face/nose and say "focus." Eventually do just your finger in front of your nose for the dog to focus on without the treat. Works great and gets their attention. Jeanette |
Here are a few really good sites that I found that describes different training mothods like the Umbilical Cord Housebreaking Method. That is also a great way to train your new pup in all aspect of household training. Like teaching them their name and much more. Umbilical Cord Housebreaking Method Training Your Dog (this is a really good site) Good Luck ! |
