The ugly truth behind some websites... The website which makes everything sound so wonderful.... HOME PAGE - "Precious Little Treasures" The reality Humane Society Raid Rescues Nearly 300 Dogs from North Carolina Puppy Mill [Slideshow] | Environment | AlterNet HumaneSociety.org Slideshows Several of these dogs have been brought here to Va to find new homes. |
I put the link on my FB... I think anyone who wants to buy a dog from a pet store should be required to see the slide show. thank you for sharing |
OMG Deb!!!   Those monsters, I hope they go to jail, and worse. Only it should be a jail with wire as a floor, and no room to move inside, no shower, filled w/ feces, and no love. I hope all of these poor babies will heal and find wonderful, loving homes. I know HSUS is disliked by some, but here is a great example of the best of what they can do. I wish they'd bust these kinds of places 24 hours a day, and do nothing else for a full year! I'd like to see that. |

Some have found their way to Chicago as well according to the news stations here. |
good job of showing the whole story from website to what is really happening.. so very sad |
Oh this is horrible! Those poor babies and to know there is many more places out there....just sickens me! I hope these people pay dearly and then that's not enough! |

Errr, I'm so tech challenged. |
I am crying and feel sick. How could anyone do this to helpless animals ! I am glad you shared this, maybe someone will NOT buy a puppymill puppy because of this. |
Who did they find who was willing to take these poor animals? Have the yorkies gone to yorkie rescues that now could use some financial help in vetting and rehoming these poor babies? I cannot believe any human w a conscience could treat animals like that! I see their website seems to be still up and running (Mason Kennels) |
Here's another link to the story that is more complete. Officials seize nearly 300 dogs from kennel in Caldwell County - WBTV 3 News, Weather, Sports, and Traffic for Charlotte, NC- ...and I like to point out this quote... "The health department says the crates, food and supplies have been provided by a grant from Maddie's Fund which is part of Pet Smart Charities. Officials estimate the cost of caring for these animals could exceed $100,000 but will be paid for through this grant". So, you see...that $1 or $2 donation they ask for when you swipe your card at the checkout at PetSmart DOES make a difference. BTW, the title of the link in the OP is a little misleading. It wasn't a HSUS raid...it was a raid in which the HSUS assisted. The link in the OP is a HSUS site. |
What can I say? What can anyone say? It's so sick & so sad. I'd just like to scream in those idiots faces & just ask them WTF are they thinking!?:angry::mad: I hope good can come of this. Those babies make it to loving forever homes, the mill owners go to jail, followed by a very hot place. Hopefully it will get at least someone to do their homework before buying a pup or just decide to rescue to begin with. I made the mistake of looking at all of the rest of the slideshows they had quick links to & I just feel sick! I hope the animals that have not been rescued yet soon receive a quick end to their suffering.:( |

I get so very, very sad every time I see things like this. 3 of my babies I adopted came from a place like this. They went into rescue when they were gotten out. My very 1st rescue was Audrey she was 8 yrs old, I only had her for 4 yrs before she passed. My Annie was 2 1/2 when I adopted her, she just passed in December, but I had her 10 yrs. My Tee Tee was 8 yrs old when I adopted him, I only had him for 2 yrs before he passed. These poor babies the baggage and medical problems they came with from being in these horrid conditions. They were such a joy to have and I loved them so much. I'm so glad these babies will have a chance to know love and what it's like be treated kindly and given every thing they need. |

Thanks for adding the info about Maddies Fund vs. HSUS, I completely missed that. Maddies Fund is wonderful, so it should definitely get some hugs for helping these babies: Maddie's Fund |
Appauling! :( |
Here's the link on how to help/adopt the dogs from this raid.... Information about helping the puppies - WBTV 3 News, Weather, Sports, and Traffic for Charlotte, NC- Thanks, Ann, for posting the link to Maddie's Fund. Many local Humane Societies have relied on this fund in times of need. Also, PetSmart's Rescue Waggin' helps out tremendously in many of these puppy mill busts. Here's a link with info about PetSmart charities. I feel really good about the few dollars I donate on each visit to the store because they put the money to such good use. I know this is an old link but look at this .... Home - Precious Little Treasures Your original link came up and asked you to click on their new site. I got to say WTF...I can not understand why these people are still in business. I can not wrap my head around this. 276 Dogs seized. And they are back in business under the same site. I can not understand why they are not shut down. If they a allowed to just continue where they left off then they should pay all the money it cost for seizing, vetting, and adopting these poor dogs. I am so mad I can spit..... Steps off soap box.......... |
Red spot on the nose is a very common condition in the dog nose when boarding. This condition is known as Kennel nose. Kennel Nose |
