No, I'm not sure that Snookie is a Silkie. I am going on what the owner said 100%. I wondered too, but honestly, I don't know enough about Silkies, to know the difference. As always, I guess I've got more reading to do.
I don't care for the name Snookie, but I may keep it for a little while, to avoid confusion during transition. Thank you everyone for the congratulations and good wishes. I need your good wishes and lots of prayer. She is the wildest, most hyper little dog I have ever seen. She reminds me of a Jack Russel on steroids, literally bouncing off of everything. She bulldozes over anyone or anything in her path, nipping the whole time. Poor little Lucy is terrified of her, and by last night, Lola had enough and was fighting back. It's time to read the behavior section of YT. | This is just a suggestion, so feel free to ignore it. :) If you keep calling her Snookie but plan to change it, your not doing her or yourself any favors. She's only 6 months old, no damage will be done if you change her name. Kaji was Bear, and at a year old he picked up on his new name in about 2 days. It helps if it's short and has long vowel sounds. That's what they taught me at the shelter I use to groom for. Any new dog got a new name right away, especially if we didn't know their background. No matter their age, they picked up on their new name right away, especially if treats were involved.
Good luck with the training, sounds like no one gave Snookie boundaries in her old home. |
