opinions on best harness w/ long hair I have always had issues with Paisley's harnesses. She has a long coat, and I don't take her for walks as often as I should because the harnesses always tangle her hair and it is an ordeal combing it back out. Is there a specific harness that those out there with full coated yorkies have found that works better?? |
I like the velcro ones from Go fetch and fairytailsfashions. I am growing Aja's hair out so I just comb the belly hair and kinda fold it so it doesn't tangle or get caught in the velcro and it works just fine. |
I only use Buddy Belts on Rio and Bullet. Velcro actually gets caught in Rio's hair, but the BB's only have one buckle and it's easy to comb long hair through the harness to make the hair fall nicely through the harness. I also make sure they're fully brushed out before putting on the harness and immediately after taking it off. |
We use the silk harnesses made by Chattiesmom a member here on yt. They do not mat or break the long hair. You can put them on and then comb the hair around them. She makes them in many colors and they are custom made so the are sure to fit properly. I highly recommend them for yorkies with any length hair. |
My boys are escape artists, so I only trust the Buddy Belt to hold them. It works perfectly on Max and his long hair, but it has broken hair on Teddy's shoulder blades, probably because of the way his grandpa walks him in it -- letting him pull to the side so that the belt acts almost like a saw on his hair. |
