abby: my loved enlongated yorkie 2 Attachment(s) Hello! This is Abby, the most wonderful pup ever! she's 4 months old and weights about 7lbs! I love my pup to death but i'm almost certain she's not a purebred yorkie or maybe she's a redlegged? well abby is longer than the standard, her ears are longer, even her tongue is super long. her hair is wiry and super sparse and has this white hairs on her head! i know she;s adorable, but she quite different from the standard yorkie pups.... what do you think? |

She probably does have something else mixed in there, but, she is adorable. Thats what makes her unique and Abbey. |
She looks like she has some wirehaired terrier, her face...I could be wrong. I don't think she is purebred Yorkie. Very cute tho.:D |
1 Attachment(s) ohh and this is Tara, her littermate sister. Tara on the other hand looks like a yorkie. She is as long as she is tall, and weights about 4 lbs, has longer hair and her coat is already changing. maybe they have different fathers? |
Abby & Tara are both adorable girls...sweet little faces :) |
thank you! they are the best!! |
Darling girls, and lucky to have a mommy who LOVES them just the way they are! |
She looks like a red legs to me...and it is possible she is all Yorkie. Some breeders say they only breed for "pets", so the quality of their sire and dam is of no importance...and after a while the pups start looking mixed...which is the breeders business, unless they advertize quality, bred to the standard puppies and ask more then $300 or $400..JMO |
I am sorry the pics are not very clear. It is very hard to say 100% Yorkie from pics and even in person while holding the pup. I think the only way is to do DNA testing. I know my own line. But once in awhile, we get what I call a 'Cave Puppy' It's bigger with thicker fur and it's ears kinda flop. I have seen them after they are grown and they are very nice looking, right at 7 lbs, their ears are up. But their fur stays thick and heavy more black colored, than blue-black In 18 years I have had 4 Cave puppies so that gene is way back there somewhere. |
Sorry, off topic but a Cave Puppy? That is awesome, I would love to see a cave puppy. The original post it was hard to tell in regards if she is a Yorkie, she looks a lot like my Sophie Kate who is 3 years old and 8 lbs. |
She looks like a yorkie to me! Such a cutie! :) |
Your baby is adorable. She does kind of remind me of my Moka. Moka is long, has the red legs and wiry black hair and her ears stand up but they are very big. I often think my Moka is a Silky/Yorkie mix. Her face hair grows long but her body hair is slow to grow and brittle, but it is super easy to care for, and it never tangles or mats. As she has gotten a little older, her coat has gotten healthier. She just looks like she always has a nice trimmed up hair cut, but she looked a lot like your baby at that age. |
thank you everyone! i've talked to the owner of their mother and he says that the father is a pure yorkies so as the mother. maybe it's a gene from the past lol. her coat is really easy to take care of, never mats, which i love! i have enough combing with tara's hair! and my husband is in love with her, he says that she's a tomboy, and not as girly as regular yorkies. so, we are happy to have her! thank you everyone |
My Jada is the same! Long with thin wiry coat, and white hair on her head! She's AKC registered so that means she is a purebred yorkie. I'm pretty sure yours is too then. But my Jada kind of has a hunch in her back. I've researched it and I think she may have a roachback. So I'm wondering if Abby has a hunch too since they both look alike??! |
