Minnie has been miserable for a couple days now. Why? :( For the past couple of days, my little yorkie (Minnie) has been less active. She's been sleeping all day, she doesn't want to go out and walk or do anything except potty, or eat food... then its right back to her doggy bed. My wife tried to play with her, but if anyone gets near her she'll get up and move to another area in the house and lay down. She's very miserable. :( I am a new yorkie owner, and from my understanding she's now in the final stages of her heat cycle. Could that have anything to do with her mood change? Have any of you experience anything like this? Should I be worried? |
they all act different when in heat I would guess this is the problem if she is eating and going to the bathroom just fine. Keep an eye on her and it never hurts to call the vet to see if they think this is normal. |
Poor Miss Minnie. I've never had a female that has been through a heat cycle. However, if this is becoming daily there may be something more that's going on. Prayers for Miss Minnie. Keep us posted. |
My york is going on 4. I had never noticed any difference during heat, but before the last one started, she started s**tting in the house while we were away. Now during, she sleeps, doesn't play, barks less, etc. I now believe it changes their feelings for sure. |
I don't know anything about females. I'm a first time dog owner as well. It wouldn't hurt to give your vet a call just to check if this is something you should be concerned about. |
i hope Minnie is feeling better today... |

Kroger recalls Pet Pride, Old Yeller, Value Chunk pet foods for aflatoxin | PetConnection.com Since you noticed this after the change of food, I would stop that brand and go back to what you were feeding her, (there are some good links here to some quality dog food) http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...e-samples.html . Also, when you notice a sudden change like this, it is always better safe than sorry and get her checked out with your vet. Hope she is feeling better soon! |
