Need some help, advise, or something! So Dh and I moved into our new house!! It is wonderful!! I am also re-training Pnut to go potty outside!, yup I have no pads in the house! So far so good, but I dont know if it is because of the move, but Pnut is kinda acting strange  We moved in Friday, he pooped on Fri night, Sat, Sun no poop. I noticed he hasnt really ate any dry food either. So this morning I was starting to worry, before I took him in the vet i made some chicken and rice, he ate it and finally went poo!! ( outside may I add) Well he has still been acting strange, he is joined to my hip, gets kinda scared when he hears sounds, just seems "off". He is still playful, wants to be out in the sun, I mean typical Pnut behaviour, but he just seems off to me  Has this happened to anyones babies after they have moved? He is 4 years old. When I first got him we lived in a apt/condo lived there for about 2 years, then we moved to another apt, lived there for 2 years which he did fine with those moves, now we moved to a house, so I dunno if it is strange to him..?? Also I didnt make the transaction good, DH took the Fri off to move, well I didnt want him to have to keep and eye out for Pnut so I took him to day care, then when DH picked him up he went to the new house... Maybe that messed himm up.. I dunno!! Thoughts? Ideas to help him?? |
Maybe he is just a little off because of the move. It has to be strange for him in a new place, with lots more room to explore..etc. It will probably take him a little bit of time to adjust. I am just guessing here and you know Peanut better than anyone, does he usually adapt to change easily? |

It's probably just the move. New house, new sounds, new smells...it's all so strange to him & he's taking it all in and prolly just a lil on edge. I'm sure he'll settle in after a few days, when he realizes it's not just a temporary visit to a new place. Congratulations on your new home :) |

Would you be a little off if you moved to China? Lol, your new move is as foreign to him as China would be to you, and he has no way of knowing "why" you moved. I think taking him for walks around the block, and allowing him to survey and mark his new territory will make him feel much more at home. |
Congratulations on your new home. I don't think it's unusual for Pnut to be acting strange. It sounds like he is doing great with the new outside training. I know you don't want to reinforce his fear, but I don't think a little extra love to make him feel secure would harm him. I'm sure it's difficult for him to adjust to change but love makes all the difference in the world. |
