one up, one down Tyler is a year old and his ears have always been straight up. Now, he has one ear up and one ear down. Although I think he looks adorable, hubby is not so happy. Anyone know how to fix Tyler's floppy ear? |
We are all floppy here. :) Hopefully, someone will have some advice for you. I know ears can temporarily drop during teething. I'm sure he's still a cutie. |
Trying massaging his ears a night and if that doesn't work you could tape them. |

That boy gets more massages than I do...lol...I had to use tape on my other yorkie, but was just wondering if there were any other ideas. Thanks for the suggestion. |
Shave the ear to make it lighter. If that doesnt work tape, leave on 3 days. If it isnt up repeat |
can you get them to come up even if they have never by taping? just wondering mine all stand |
you need to keep the top 1/3 of the ear shaved both inside and out. It keeps the top part og the ear lighter so it stands up. also trim the top third edge. I hope this helps. Linda, Sassyand Patti |
Just like others have said, keep the ears clipped short and the top 1/3 very short. Even with that, Ginger has one ear up and one down (she's not the dog in my avatar). |
Thor had one up and one down, the one down had never stood up even after trying massage, shaving and tape. So I left it alone for a for weeks and tried the tape again for 3 days. I noticed when I removed the tape the ear was trying to fall back down but I would massage it and it would stay up for hours. Eventually after about 2 days I did not have to mess with it any more now it stays up. Good luck. Nydia -- Thor's mommy:aimeeyork |
