do anyone know? My yorkie is the smallest thing running around the house. And Sumtime we don't hear him around or behind us ... and one time I step on him by mistake .... is there a bell or anything I can get for him so that we can hear him when he walks behind is so we can be aware that he is there? |
Many small cat collars have bells on them and will fit a small dog. |
Oh no! In our house we move slowly, and always look behind us before stepping anywhere! Maybe I should try the bell collars!:D |
Mine wear collars with their tags on them so I always hear them coming :) |
I put little pink bells on my baby girls' collars. Their collars are for identification only with a small collar id. It wraps around the collar and doesn't hang down and make noise. The little bells help me know where my girls are. We do walk carefully, but the bells help out a great deal. |
In my house, we do the "yorkie shuffle" and feet barely leave the floor when moving. Be warned it causes alot of static buildup, so expect electric popping noises if you touch fleece, and mild spark when you flip a light switch :D. A bell collar sounds like a great idea! |
We put a bell on Gracie's collar when she was a baby. You could even buy one at a craft store and attach it with one of those small circles that come with tags. Sorry, I can't remember what the term is for them. Senior moment.... That along with the foot shuffle and looking for before walking help until they learn your movements. When that happens, they know to get out of the way. |
Ziva has always worn a bell on her "necklace" (collar). She misses it as much as we do when it is off for swimming or bath. With 5 people it was important to hear her. She also wears a small aluminum ID tag which helps the bell jingle a little more. |
You can get a pkg of 3 bells at Petsmart in the cat section, I have one on several collars that Bella wears. I always know where she is but my DH is a different story... LOL |

When Callie was a puppy I found a pack of 3 pink bells from Lil'pals and I got them and used them but now Callies collar has a tag with her name on it and her rabies tag that together make a nice little jingle to let me know where she is. |

I have a cloth breakaway collar that I bought from eBay. It's for cats, so it came with a bell. I added a tag, and a charm with his initial on it. All of that together makes so much noise that I know where he is. |
Roxie wears her ID tag and her rabies tag. They make a jingly noise, so I always know where she is (though I do still trip over her sometimes). She loves her collar. When I take it off for baths, she will follow me around until I put it back on her. |
