"My teacup Yorkie flies in on Saturday!" UGH. My aunt's husband's mother (what is she to me? I dunno) is a nice woman. She runs a daycare out of her house but I don't know her TOO well. I only see her on occasion for certain events or holidays. She posted a status on her facebook that she is so excited because "my new teacup Yorkie flies into BWI on Saturday!!!" So I put this, kindly: "Careful with getting yorkies shipped! They r usually from puppy mills. Teacup isn't a real breed of Yorkie, people just call them that to sell them lol but that's so cool u r getting one. Jackson is my monster Yorkie ♥" She replies: "Brittany, Brenda has her sister. They have the same father ." So, I figure, leave this one alone. I don't know her too well, don't wanna come across snobby, I have to see this lady in person at family functions, LOL: "Oh awesome! Can't wait to see him/her! Do u have a name picked out???" And then someone ELSe comments: "Ha Ha, Im sure Mrs Brittany will have a different frame of mind when she meets Genna. Maybe she hasnt met Pebbles either??" Ohhh I wanna give a piece of my mind but I can't. So I had to vent here! GRRRR. First off all, is this dog is really small... that is such a TERRIBLE combo in a house full of daycare kids!!! |
LOL I probably would have posted a link explaining the no such thing as a teacup yorkie. Instead of referring to your 'monster' maybe use teapot so she googles it and gets the hint. I wouldn't touch it at all, they seem very naive and sometimes it's just 'safer' to treat em like mushrooms :D |
Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor. The ONLY thing I'd mention is that if he's very very small he will have his bones easily fractured and that fixing them can cost thousands of dollars. Maybe they will respond better to your attempt to save them money? Ugh what an awful situation. I feel for you on this, Jo |
Maybe you could direct her to YT? I'm sure she's paid for the puppy, so she's not about to back out of the purchase now. Ugh, what an awful feeling. That's a tricky situation to be in. |
LOL, when I first read the title....I thought you were getting a "teacup" and I thought...WTH, Brit knows better, LOL :D It's late....I must be tired ;), going to bed now, LOL. Seriously, yeah...very sticky situation... |
This is where I use my favorite movie quote: "Stupid is as stupid does." Gotta love people. |
WOW, maybe you can just write her a personal email, Try to come from the heart! ( however you say that) Maybe then she will take more in... you know? |
Send her the link, and invite her to YT. We'd all be happy to welcome her. It might come in handy if she runs into problems with her "teacup". Hon, you tried! |
In my many years on this planet I have come across so many people, strange, wicked, kind & passionate. One of the best things I have learned that if you don't say something, someone or something could get hurt. I would rather know that I stood up for something that I was passionate about and probably more knowledgeable about than to let it go. If the person takes it wrong, so be it. But possibly it could go right. Just a chance that may be worth taking. Only speaking from my experience and by no means am I judging. Good Luck no matter your decision. |

Tell her to be sure to take a tube of Nutrical with her when she goes to pick the pup up from BWI. :D Is it 5,6,7 or 8 weeks old? Friend me, I'll tell her... |
I think that she would be a 'GrandAunt'. |

Thank god for YT so you can vent :D As you will see this lady at family things I would let it go. But you now may be getting your other dog!!! When she sees that a small dog in a daycare won't go well. After some time goes by she may be calling you for advice. |
I am afraid for this little dog, but it would be better if you can remain friends with this woman and let her talk to you about the dog ... maybe you can give her some advice along that she will take. Do invite her to join YT. Maybe she will listen to lots and lots of people who say the same thing about tiny Yorkies and this little dog will get better care in the long run. Jeanette |
