Boy, it's getting how as summer is approaching and I really want my babies to play in the water so they can enjoy summer :D Did anyone here buy a pool for their baby? Any suggestions? Bf is thinking this one

ehh, me not so much....:p So, I thought I'd come here to hear fellow YTer's suggestions. ;)

It was in the 90's a few days ago here in Michigan. ZoE was outside with me (sitting in the shade) while I was planting flowers. When I sprayed the hose, she went nutz trying to run through it. (she loves having a bath) So took a lid to a storage tote & filled it with water (less than an inch deep...lol), but she had such a great time paddling in it :).

I'm looking for a small pool for her too! I'm looking for something hardsided because blowup pools puncture too easily.

I've posted this a lot lately, hehe... but here I bought this pool for Jackson (ha- I WISH! It's my dads pool).

But he also loves the baby pools some of my relatives have. They have them at Kmart for like $12.

Couver loves swimming so we've been thinking about getting a kiddie pool for them. I would advise getting once that you don't have to inflate. I think that they would pop an inflatable one pretty quickly?

With the way Princess digs up her water like a maniac I think she'd love a little pool.
I just have a small balcony so I think I'm actually buying an under the bed storage container.;) It's a good size & shallow enough to get in & out of. It'll also be easy to fill as I don't have a hose, yet wont be too heavy to empty, etc.
I've been looking for a pool for a long time with no luck.

I just got this today at Target Amazon.com: Oceans Friends Sprinkler: Sports...Amazon.com: Oceans Friends Sprinkler: Sports... Cooper wasn't that interested, but I was able to throw a ball through it and keep him busy playing. Max enjoyed drinking from it and getting his head wet. It just hooks to a hose. It cost me $5 so i figured why not?

You and I are in very similar situation! We also have a small balcony and no hose too. haha I guess we will be shopping for one at a good deal. Glad I asked YTer's though because now I know no inflatable ones :) I will post pictures when I get one. It'll be Carmel and Emma's first time in a "swimming pool"...they've never swam. I'm too afraid to let them into public water, such as lakes.

My husband and I were walking last week and found a neighbor had thrown away a small hard wading pool. She babysits and we thought the kids were getting too big for the pool. We took it home, put water in it and Macy had a great time wading around. She hates a bath but will jump in and out of the pool and stand in it.

We just bought one from Dollar General for $8, my dogs don't actually play in the water, but they love to jump in to cool off when it gets hot and humid! Other wise they use the water bowls:)

I got mine from Babies R us for 4.00.. Although a large water bowl works for Tessa as you can see by my avatar.:D

I got one like that last year and Sophie just stood there like I was nuts and then jumped out.:( I still have it so I will try again this year.

We have a pool and mine don't use it :(. They *love* lakes when we go up to Tony's parent's lake place - but a big no on the pool.

Jackson looks like he's having a BLAST!

That is actually a boston terrier, they are a small breed, about 20lbs.

I bought mine a pool one year and they didn't really care for it but they will play with their water bowls, go figure, lol.

You're right, it is a very pretty red Boston (off standard). I've thought about getting Mojo a pool, too, but I do wonder if he'd use it. He's a good boy when he gets his bath, but you can tell he's kinda suffering in silence. :rolleyes:

I bought a kiddie hard plastic pool for my dogs we also live on the lake and they enjoy both But the pool is always ready in their yard. They run out and jump in it all the time I have to change the water often as after they seem to find mud in the grass yard :eek: But they truly love it When we get out on the lake we have a big raft thing they all love will get pictures and share this summer :D

I dont have a pool but we have a stream that my husband put in our yard. Right now it isnt running because my Husbands redoing it but the liner is down and water pools in it and both of my yorkies will walk through it. It was funny the other day was in the 90s and Jewels just went over and sat in it. When its running chachi runs through the running water of the waterfalls all down the stream it is so funny and cute

my one doesnt evan look at the pool.. if I try to play with and the water she just runs back inside.. better like that for me.. I lost the yorkie that was the love of my life like that... my sister was looking after her and let her go outside alone.. she drowned :S.. horrible..

A couple of years ago, I bought my girls a little baby pool, thinking that they would be nice and safe and be able to play in the water. I added a couple of inches of water to it, and they proceeded to DRINK out of it:laugh: They wouldn't go INTO it, though:P Little stinkers! I say spend as little as possible until you know whether they'll like it or not.

Get some pictures if you can:D

Agreed!

Mine wouldn't go near the thing- so I took to throwing their favorite toys into the pool- it forced them to go in and get them out! :p
