The Life you save Might be your Baby I hope this link works..https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1470586239.one of our customers had an accident last night. She was driving to Walmart and had her Yorkie with her and he was sitting on her lap. The accident was caused by him jumping out the window and she was trying to catch him and hit a truck. Luckily for her the people who lived at the accident site came out and did CPR on her baby (he had no heartbeat) and revived him and her sister rushed to the scene and took him to the vet and he did survive. Please don't drive without your baby secured in the car, would you drive with your child not restrained? |
the link will not work for me, but, what a horrible story! Thank God it didn't end tragically!! I would rather leave my guys home than take them in the car without putting them in their kennels securely strapped in the car..Thanks for posting this for others to read...it just may well have saved someone else some heartache!! :) |
It won't work for me either..it is probably because it is pictures of the accident they posted on their FB page. |
Very scary! The woman and her pup are very lucky that it didn't turn out much, much worse. Very good reminded to secure our little ones in the car. |
Very sad indeed :( thank god they are ok |
When I see pick-up trucks with unrestrained dogs in the back I go nuts! I can't believe anyone would risk there dogs life like that! |
That's so sad & scary. Someone my DD knew had their small dog (not a yorkie) jump out on the highway. Of course they were not as fortunate.:( I used to let Princess sit between the 2 of us or on my DD's lap but I was so worried, what if I had to stop or had an accident and the airbag went off....she wouldn't stand a chance.:( She rides restrained now. Thanks for the reminder, it's very scary & hopefully it will help people think about this instead of pushing it from their minds. |
Thankyou for the reminder. I just recently purchased the Snoozer Car seat for Taycie. It's such a piece of mind knowing she is safely secured in the back seat. I think her Car seat was one of the best purchases I have made. |
Thank you for reminding us of the dangers. I had 2 cairn terriers years ago but never thought about restraining them. Since I got my Yorkies and joined YT I learned about car seats and they are always restrained. Happy to know the driver and the Yorkie survived. She was so blessed and that she didn't injure or kill another driver. |
Wow, glad everyone is okay. Very scary. |
Scary and very lucky. I keep mine in a carrier with the seat belt restraining it. |
The link won't work because she accidentally put 'one' at the end. Notice the sentence after the link. The 'one' should be there, I think. I took it off for you, and i'm gonna try it. Maybe it'll work now! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1470586239 |
Very, very scary. Thank you for sharing! |

I read the comments on facebook...how does a yorkie "fall out" of the window? Does she mean jump? Anyway, I agree dogs should be restrained and I am unfortunately guilty of not keeping Teddy restrained. I sit in the passenger seat while Teddy snoozes on my lap...but I don't let him go anywhere near the window...Either way thank you I will buy a car seat for him just in case...I've been a very bad yorkie mom :( |
How scary! I always secure mine and now my car insurance company (Progressive) includes pet insurance that will help pay if one of my babies is injured in an accident. |
Thank you for reminding us... this is so scary.. |
I need to place my dear Yorkie Hi everyone, I have a beloved Yorkie that's been a part of our family since she was born. We can no longer keep her in the house that we are in, but I want to be very sure she goes to a good and lasting home! She is a little hyper and loves, dearly loves to give kisses to one that she has learned to trust. She needs someone that will have time for her, and not gone to work most of the time. She does best in a controlled environment. Can anyone tell me where to go? |
that really makes you stop and think. my dogs are always in the crate. when morgan comes home in mid july, i have a crate for him but i probably get him a car seat for the back seat |
Update....the lady that wrecked her car that I started this thread about came in where I work yesterday. She asked me if I had seen on FB what happened and told me about her dog dying and about the person doing CPR on him and reviving him. I told her she was very lucky and asked what happened. She told me her yorkie likes to ride with its head out the window  and he jumped out and she wrecked trying to catch him. I told her she may not be so lucky the next time and to please get him a carseat or at least keep him restrained when riding in the car.:( I cannot imagine me letting my babies ride with their heads hanging out the window!!! |
Remy likes to sit on my shoulders if I let her.. If I have all three in the car all three would be on top of me and I can drive. I read a while back about a furbaby being killed in an accident that would most likely made it if the pup had been in a car seat. That did it for me..... |
Goodness, very scary! I have two Lookout car seats in the back seat of my car and my dogs are always put in them and properly restrained. Some years ago, a relative was traveling with their little toy poodle loose in the car and it got down where the brake was and caused a fatal accident. Mother and son were killed and the little dog had to be PTS. Very sad. My furkids love the Lookout car seats. They are comfortable and they can see out the windows. Jeanette |
