Help Ban The Sale of Puppies in Pet Stores in Toronto!!!
 

Hi Everyone!

There is a Meeting to pass o proposal to ban the sale of dogs and cats in Toronto pet stores and we NEED support to help make this happen! if you are in Toronto, please see the links below and consider coming out to show your support and speaking about it infront of the comittee! I am hoping to be there as long as my schedule permits!

If you cannot make it or do not live in Toronto, PLEASE send in a written submission on your feelings about the banning of puppy sales in pet stores! it doesn't have to be long...and support is appreciated and needed!!!

This is a one shot kind of thing! there are many people who have been fighting for years to try to have this ban be heard. if it is not supported, we will loose this oportunity! if it is passed, we are well on our way to being one of the first major cities in North America to have an outright ban on puppy sales in pet stores!!!! Help make Toronto a positive example to the rest of the world on animal rights!!!!

Bumping this up. we have very little time to take action on this.

You DO NOT need to live in Toronto or even Canada to make a submission in writting!! If you are passionate about this cause, send a submission in writing since if the ban of puppy sales in pet stores occurs here, it can be a positive example to not only the rest of north america, but the world, on the new standard of companion animal rights!

I second Lil Sis's op, I think Dexter could make a call to action on you tube. Nothing is better than a cute little dog.

i tried but just didn't have the time to get a video done. But i did speak today and the motion was altered a bit and will not go forward as a complete ban, but it could impliment a lot more control and inspections of pet stores and certified breeding facilities. sad the complete ban did not stick, but at least it is a step in the right direction.

I think one direction to go is to modify how easy/difficult it is to get an approved breeders certification from the city of toronto.

Also another step is to enforce or try to pass a law that if you want to sell a dog or cat you must offer a full health guarantee of 3 years. Refund up to the purchase price of the dog, plus medical costs up to $xxx for any genetic/inherited condition.
