Just joined today.. going to be first time breeder Hi, I'm Ernie Jones in North Carolina. I have a yorkie that is about twoy years old.. I am going to be breeding her for the first time when she goes into heat the next time.. She is a about 8 pounds and had a great disposition. I haven't found a stud yet, but have some leads for local males. I need to do a lot of learning before then. Looking forward to using this site to help me get through this. |
I would do ALOT of reseach before breeding your baby. Yorkies tend to have a really hard time....why is it you want to breed her?? Have you had all the necessary testing done yet? Are there champoins in her line that you are wanting to continue?? Please dont breed her just "for fun" and to have babies! So many horrible things go wrong everyday! and ps...welcome to YT |

:yeahthat: Please don't breed just to "have puppies" or to make money off them (after vet bills you won't anyway). There's sooooo many dogs in shelters and rescues that need homes, including Yorkies. |
I will try not to be judgmental and bossy. You will get a lot of negative feedback about breeding your dog. Most of us take breeding as a serious business. It is definately not a casual hobby, or a poor person's way to make money. Some of us just about break even, at the end of the year. It sounds like you only want to breed your female one time and are not interested in selling puppies as a business. Do you have 3 or 4 homes already lined up for the potential litter ? I am glad you found our site. It is full of information and some really nice people. Don't let some of us put you off with our opinions. Most of us just want every Yorkie Baby born, to be healthy, wanted, and to go to a perfect forever home. |
