Yorkie Question 2 Attachment(s) I bought a yorkie. He is 7 weeks old now. i have seen the mother and father but i still wonder if my puppy is a yorkie by the way he looks.(hes not registered) Regardless we love him but would like to hear your opinions on what other people think about if he is a yorkie or mix |
SEW, WOW, what a cute little guy you got there ! He looks like he's going to be the most loving and affectionate dog you could ask for... but... I don't think he actually looks like a Yorkie. IF you want, you can do one of the DNA tests on it, which is very simple. You send a Oral Swab off to the Lab, and they can tell you which Breed Mix it is. Can get test done for about $50 or so. One thing else is... You really picked him up TOO early ! It would have been much better for him, if you'd left him with his Mother another four or so weeks. That extended time with her and his pack, really can make a positive influence on his development, through out his life. I think you made a good choice, and my best wishes for a long and loving relationship. S.W. |
Looks like a mix to me - very cute though! |
Hi there. I'm really sorry about this, but your puppy is definitely a mix. There might be some Yorkie in there, but he isn't a purebred. You said you love him regardless and you absolutely should, but I'd take it up with the breeder. If you can prove that they lied about this, you might even be able to take them to court to get your money back. I'm really sorry that you were taken in by a disreputable breeder. When you get another puppy, it's a good idea to take your time to get to know the breed and a few breeders before you buy a puppy. It's also a good idea to get a puppy after 12 weeks, not as young as 7. I hope you enjoy your new boy and I'm sure he'll bring you lots of happiness! |
He is so tiny and sweet. He does look like a mix to me also |
I agree that he looks like a mix, but he is absolutely adorable. Congratulations on your new family member! |
He sure is cute but doesn't look like a full yorkie to me and he is big to be 7 weeks old. |
thanks for everyones replies. he didnt come from a breeder actually. a friend of mine has 2 yorkies, well the mother looks kinda like she has some poodle or maltese in her and the daddy is definelty a yorkie, but they ended up having puppies and i had to have one, he just doesnt look like either of the parents |
2 Attachment(s) He is cutie pie :D...but he isn't a yorkie...I don't even think he is mixed with a yorkie...JMO. I would contact the breeder that sold him to you...I'm so sorry this happen to you. FYI...This is a yorkie puppy...The first picture is a yorkie puppy I got off the internet...but the second is of my Bella when she was a puppy. |
I too agree that this puppy is a mix, but a very, very cute one..lol.. |
Congrats on your new puppy! He is very cute! I agree w the others though that he is probably a mix. My neighbor's beagle mix actually looks very similar to your pup. He is a lovely, well-mannered boy who gets along well w all the neighbors' dogs. Your pup looks like a lovely boy! |

Welcome to YT. I agree he looks like he is mixed with a beagle but he is adorable. |
Looks like a beagle mix to me, but the not so floppy ears kinda lend to maybe a chihuahua? I don't see yorkie, but he is so darn cute...love that baby up. :p |
Yep.. very cute little boy.. but unfortunately not a Yorkie at all.. not even mix... despite of the fact you love him the breeders weren't honest to you.. if you feel bad with that you should get back to them.. good luck.. :) |
