Getting ready to come home... What all do I need at home. i will get food the day I get her so I get the correct kind the breeder uses. but just some toys and a bed does not seem sufficient enough. Is there a list of what should be on hand and needed what to keep for back up. Do you keep a medical supply/box for your baby for her own needs.. My human kids each have their own LOL. What would it consist of for a baby girl? |
Go to this thread it will help alot. YORKIE PUPPY CARE GUIDE - For New Parents! Congratulations on your new baby. Please post pictures when you get her. Love those babies!!:D |
This is what I had on hand before I brought my pup home: an expen a crate multiple blankets (no beds at the beginning- they will have accidents and most likely will chew- blankets are easy to keep switching out and cleaning) a bunch of different toys (plush, rubber, round, long, squeaky, crackly, smooth, rough- it is good for their development to have different toys) a harness a leash a brush nutri-cal and/or Karo syrup a gentle puppy shampoo pee pads Nature's Miracle (in bulk! LOL) dishes for food and water the food the breeder was feeding (small bag) the food I was going to transition to (sample size) |

I'd add a small travel crate for trips to the vet and other transport. |
the other thing that I got 2 days after Hot Rod arrived was a baby monitor. I know, sounds weird, but the was in his crate downstairs and I wanted to make sure I heard him if he needed to potty. It broke my heart but at the same time made me feel much calmer. The first couple of nights he whined and cried but then I could hear him settle down. I was much calmer because I knew I could hear him if he needed to potty. Congrats on your new baby. :) |
