Does your Yorkie run your life? (in a good way) Not in a bad way... but a good way... ever since we got Lulu.... our life revolves around her.... We dont have any kids and Lulu is our first dog... Neither of us thought that we could or would get so attached. About 6 months ago, my aunt moved out of her apartment because she couldnt have dogs, for a while she had a secret daschund, and they found out about it... i remember thinking... Thats stupid, its just a dog... THEN..... We got Lulu and we got it. We understood why she did that. Because we would have done the same thing. Lulu is our child, and we treat her like it. we spend more on her than we do ourselves. Lulu is perfect in our eyes and can do no wrong. Me and my girlfriend have been together 9 years and she just asked me the other day... What was our life like without Lulu... i couldnt remember.... We have only had her 5 months now.. but she is our life and for the most part, it revolves around her. Is it just us? Or do alot of you feel the same way?:D |
We are the same way. Our skin kids are grown and Jada and Bogie are our lives. They are super spoiled and everything we do or don't do any longer, is due to them and we wouldn't have it any other way:) |
You are definitely not alone, we are the very same way! Everything we do evolves around our girlie butt Zhoie. We plan where we are going, vacation last year and this year will be including her. If she can't do something or go, we find we don't want to either;). Totally agree with Jadabug, our kids are grown, she is our heart and wouldn't want it anyother way:D |
Wait, let me get this straight...Yorkies are Not supposed to be the boss of you???? Someone forgot to tell Valentino and Lolita this when they began training Hubby and I about 6 years ago.... All kidding aside, I love them so much and they provide Hubby and I with love, laughter and utter bliss, so why not let them make the rules??? lol! |
Oh my goodness they run our life. LOL We have no skin kid's. Every thing we do or plan to do revolves around the girl's schedules. |

My husband and I also have no skin kids, and our little girl is the center of our world. We make all of our plans around her. My husband says, "who's the #1 cockadoodledo around here?" We already know the answer - Gidget! |
I actually love my 2 girls very, very much. My son and I are both disabled. Suzi our yorkie has taken a shine to my son , for the last year she has been in his room asleep on his bed. Ever since then Suzi has become"his dog" Suzi is so smart though. She knows when my son comes home from school , and waits for his arrival. Suzi now really does not like me to bother her. Even though she will sit and lay down next to me, Suzi will not let me pet her much. So i have our Shih Tzu. Miely is more mellow and laid back, ahe is the one who stays with me everywhere. These two girls really have stolen both my son and I's heart. It is kind of funny to think this way. My son tells me I just love this dog, Suzi all the time. I love he too, and she is awesome as a watchdog too. Miely rarely barks. Because does so much ! LOL. Whenever we go out, I can't help but think of our dogs. It is hard to have fun without them. They are the center of our world. |
My life totally revolves around Rosie! Why do you think I bought a Kwigy Bo bag? Lol. That way she can go with me every where!!! :) |
Definately! When I make decisions about pretty much everything, I think of ZoE....how many hours I work, when I run to the store, places I chose to go for fun, where I'll visit or go on holiday, etc. I love how its now expanded beyond me too. My friends will choose activities we can take ZoE to, like "Art in the Park" and outdoor concerts on the riverbank. And tonight I had plans to go to my parents for dinner straight from work...my Mum texted me & asked if she could swing by my house & pick up ZoE on her way home from grocery store, so she could go to dinner too! ZoE is a part of the family :) |
Oh yes! My life happily revolves around Jackson. :) |
Things definitely revolve around Princess. My DD will be 14 shortly so she is off doing her own thing a lot, I would be very lonely without Princess here. If I'm going to go some where I wont be gone more than 3 hours with her home alone & if I have to I take her to my parents. I also factor in going through the drive-thru at the bank, pharmacy, even the little convenience store drive-thru so I can get things without leaving her in the car. My friends & family know I'm not going to leave her for some big night out & we usually just make plans to be here. I don't mind. It's often her kisses or plopping down beside me that make me get out of bed on tough days...I'd be lost without her! If I had another to keep her company things might be a little different, but right now I just want to spoil her for a while. |
Tibbe honestly runs my life - as do all the dogs in our family. We have always been dog lovers and every family member -my son, sister, niece, both great nieces - we all have at least one dog and every separate home is run by the dog(s)!!! It is great to belong to a family who totally dotes on their dogs and recognizes them as family. I do have to say that Tibbe is a benevolent despot and does give me a break from doing his bidding to occasionally come on YT and post about him! He's one great little dog. |

Yes its all about them everyday every minute. I wouldn't have it any other way. Life would be pretty boring without them. Dogs first us second :) |
I love my two but they dont run my life. We take vacations every year and this is the first year we are taking them because we arent going to parks we are just staying on the beach. We are an active family and we like to go places and dogs arent always allowed. I do love them very much I just have them and still have a life. |
I'm the same way with Boobie. People tell me I treat my dog better than I treat my kids lol. |
Teddie runs mine. He's like a child, needs a lot of help and attention, and believe me...I don't mind giving it. I'm almost done with my degree and my kids are 19 and 16, so they don't neeed me much. Teddie is helping me along with coming to terms with the inevitable empty nest syndrome that I will soon encounter. He's my buddy on my walks, a cuddler in bed, a helper (and by that I mean vacuum) in the kitchen, my laundry sorter (and by that I mean sock grabber and runner), and my tv partner. He truly has added a lot of joy to my life... |

I could say that Monkey runs my life but honestly he is what keeps me sane. - He jumps for joy and gives me kisses even when I get home from work late. - If I don't want to get out of bed when my alarm goes off, he doesn't complain, he just nestles in my neck and enjoys the snooze feature on my alarm clock right along with me!. -When I want to comb him, he happily jumps in my lap and relaxes instead of crying because he has already brushed his hair and what is the matter with the way he looks???? - He never tells me he doesn't want to go with me in the car when the kids need a ride to an activity - He is always happy to take a walk around the block with me and to just sit and watch the ducks on the lake. - He never complains about what I made for dinner even when I feet him the same meal day after day, night after night. Yes, I may have to skip happy hour after work on Friday nights because I need to get home and feed my dog and I may not be able to just go for a girls weekend without a bit of planning. But, WOW is my furbaby worth it! |
We adopt these little angels as part of the family.. I loved my little Mel like she was my daughter... :) |
I think dogs beome our obsession, because we choose to make them the center. It is human nature to find something outside ourself to love. And dogs are so easy to love ! Yes they are a biggest part of my life, my four keep me getting up every day. |
Maisie has definitely become the center of my life and I love her to pieces. I have a chronic illness and she can sense when I am having a bad day and she gives me extra cuddles and sticks to me like glue to make sure I am okay. |
ha, ha, this is totally an understatement! My life has not been the same since Hot Rod and Maggie May have been in my life. Hubby gets so jealous. One of my most favorite times of the day is bedtime. I have a pillow that I put across my lap and Hot Rod jumps up at 10:00/10:30 and settles down for the night. Maggie will join sometimes or go to her own pillow. They both just settle down for the night and I love stroking them. I can usually get them to turn over so I can give them belly rubs. My heart just melts and I fall more in love with them each day. I have totally geared my life around these 2 and they are so definitely worth it. :) |
My two boys are grown and out of the house on their own so I too had to adjust to being an empty nester. I was really bothered that no one needed me anymore. When I got Macy she filled the big hole in my heart. When my kids now visit and the first thing they do is get on the floor and play with her even before they tell me hi. We are in the process of planning a vacation around her this summer. My husband is totally on board and didn't want to hear anything about boarding her while we were gone. She has completely taken over our house and I am happy to let her have her way. |
im sooo happy to see that their are so many wonderful yorkie parents out there that love their little companions so much!! most people in this town have seen me and my bailey on the road or somewhere, i take her everywhere with me!!! |
