When is it too cold?

Trixie is getting her first experience of winter. Earlier this week it was still 60's, the last few days it's been 10-20F (barely 5-10F at night) and snowing. Trixie doesn't like the weather change very much. I dress her warm, but she's still shivering. And so instead of taking her for 2 walks of 30 min. a day, all of a sudden we're just going around the block. Now she's tearing up the house (eating kitchen floor and carpet)... we can only play so much fetch because we live in a very small apartment... So how do other people who live in cold weather handle this? When is it too cold to take her out for a long walk?

I have a long winter ahead of me (sigh)

OMG could that pic be any cuter? I love how she is wearing layers. And a yorkie in the snow how fun!! She looks nice and bundled up! Thanks for sharing! Do you have anymore pics to share?

I love the pic. Too cute. I understand your situation, we also live in a small in NYC. Is getting cold here, and Gucci shivers so much. I just take a short walk. Well due to my condition even in the warm weather our walks are short. I hope someone has a good advise.

I have a few day time pictures, but I haven't gotten them developed yet. Thanks... She's dressed in layers because she has some shirts that are a little snug and thin. And her snow coat is a little big... so a good combination ;)

You can get four-legged sweat suits, then put an insulated jacket on them with a hood and add boots to that and they'll stay pretty warm if they can still move! :D That's what we do. The trick is to keep moving. If you're like me, you're probably freezing and wanting to go in, but they need the exercise. It's important. Just keep on walking fast and you'll both toughen up in no time! Maybe... :D

Okay, so this might be a stupid question... But with all those clothes, how do they go potty?????

They have the appropriate holes. :D Mine doesn't have any problem. Believe me! She'd rather have a ton of clothes on than not get to go out for those walks. ;)
