my puppies eyes are finnally open but she is gaining alot of weight she is like 2 or 3 weeks is that a bad thing if she gains alot of weight

You don't know how old she is exactly? Why is that? How much does she weigh?

she is 3 weeks on sunday.....she weighs a little over a pound and i think that may be a little too much but i am not positive and i wasnt sure cuz i lost track of time things are crazy around here sorry

I take it that she is a singleton. That can be a problem ith singletons. You might have to start to limit the amount of time that mom is allowed in with her. They can get so fat that they can't get their legs under them. It is called swimmer puppy syndrome.

you will also need to provide some exercise time for her. Take her out of the bed and give her some rolled up towels to climb over. Do this for short periods of time. No more than 5 minutes, several times a day.

Hand rearing Puppies

I had a puppy like that, but luckily I had another litter the same age, so I started putting the singleton in with the other litter periodically throughout the day, and it worked wonders.

I have a litter here at my home that will be 3 weeks tomorrow as well...all have reached a pound or more....and their parents are small (5 pound range) so, I think your baby is right on schedule. Once they start running aound, they will "even" out!

Ha ha ha ha!!! i just now realized the OP in this thread is my 15 year old daughter!! No wonder her pup and "my" pups were the exact same age!!

I allowed her to join YT to learn more about her baby....Guess I didnt realize Jordan30 was her! :)
