What A Horrible Day!!!! This morning started out great. DH is getting ready for spring hay cutting and we have two farms. We live on the family farm and we inherited his Uncles farm in the next county. I always go with DH when he is hauling the big tractors back and forth on the float. I was going to do some cleaning in the house while he was hooking up the mowing machines. We always take the babies when we go to the big farm. The love it there and usually just run wild in the house while I am doing my cleaning or working in the yard. Things went bad fast. Just as we get into the middle of the town where we live, the dually just quit, here we are sitting next to the railroad tracks and it stopped the accelerator wouldn't work (just had put a new one on:rolleyes:) We call our son who can fix anything and he got it running, so we take off with him following. I am praying all the way that we get there without it quiting again, and God was so generous and let us get there safely. We had bought a new dehumidifier to put in the basement of the farmhouse and I had been cleaning down there while DH and DS were working on the truck, leaving Jada and Bogie upstairs with access to the kitchen, living room and hallway. DH and DS bring the dehumidifier down to the basement. We hook it up and I go around to the front of the house from the basement doorway, and who is in the front yard JADA!! I was so mad that they didn't see her go outside. The house sits about 1/8 mile off of a very busy road and there is no fence!! My heart just stopped. She has never been outside alone or off leash at all and only by God's grace did she stay in the yard. Sorry this was so long but I am still shaking from thinking of what could have happened. |
So happy Jada was okay. God was watching out for your baby. Hope you day goes better. Go home, snuggle with your babies on the couch, and have your DH make you some dinner!! Praying your day goes better! |
Ohhhhh, close call. Thank goodness she didn't take off toward that road!!! Whew! |
But how lucky for you! Sounds like it was a day full of obstacles but you were being watched and blessed! |

I am so very sorry that you had a bad day. Here's a different take on things -- and maybe it will help you feel better and count your blessings. As a farm girl, myself, we both know that Sh*t happens. Believe me, I am not downplaying your "bad day", but just think how lucky you were that..... 1) The dually didn't quit on the train tracks with a train coming -- that would have been my luck :rolleyes: 2) Your son was able to fix the truck AND answered the phone -- a double blessing 3) Your Jada was a good girl and stayed in the yard -- perhaps the greatest blessing of alll. I sure hope that you are able to do something relaxing - like a hot bath and a cup of tea. |
