Not really a newbie, counln't remember my old user name and password I am needing to know what to put in Ringo's hair to keep it out of his face that isn't chicie. |
I think I would listen to capt noonie and the other posts and find another breeder. I would be very uncomfortable of the rudeness by a seller when you are trying to get to know them to buy a dog. The website is also "International" - where are these dogs bred? We have seen dogs coming from puppy mills in other countries on YT. Please check the ytca.org website. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America is a very reputable breeders' association. They have a breeder referral page to help you find a breeder in your state/area. I'm sure if they do not have pups at the time, the breeder would be happy to refer you to other breeders they know. Reputable breeders, I have found, are very kind ppl, interested in nothing but the best for a dog, and very helpful to those who are new to the yorkie world looking for advice. You could also see if the AKC or yorkie specialty group in your area has a show coming up in your state/area. This is a great way of meeting breeders. They may not have time to talk much during the show, but I have found them very willing to let you get in touch w them later to ask questions or inquire about pup availability. |

Good luck! Kristan |
My first clue was the Perfect picture of the puppy that was posted. We have a lot of those type advertisements in our Atlanta Paper for puppy scams from other countries. Good thing she found out now before she lost all her money. After I bought my first Yorkie I answered a add for a puppy in Cameroon, caught on fast. Good Luck in finding your furever baby. |
Lots of red flags!! :thumbdown :thumbdown micro tiny teacup baby with large wide set eyes $3000  Very poor quality breeding :thumbdown breeds for tinies: puppies supposed to be 3-4 # Always avoid breeders who breed for tiny puppies and use terms such as teacup, micro mini, babydoll face, apple head, kello kitty etc. to sell their puppies. TRAITS OF A BACKYARD BREEDER Instead, find a breed who pracices reputable breeding: TRAITS OF A REPUTABLE BREEDER http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...e-breeder.html |

IMO he's probably a broker who can't spell CHAMPION. If I was the owner of a CHAMPION I'd be sure to know how to spell the word properly  Another thing that I noticed is the puppies have ID#s  What's that about anyway? Then there is Toby/Tobby~which one is it? What about the pictures of the Yorkie and Maltese puppies. The flowers are all in the exact same spot. Right~because they were born on the same day they just had a photo shoot  I can't look at the site any longer. My head hurts. :( |
I agree with megansmomma and CaptainNoonie... Run, and run away fast! This is NOT a breeder you want to purchase a puppy from. |
He's apparently a contractor/ real estate agent: Justin Lee - Real Estate Agent - Find a Realtor - Realtor.com His name is Justin Lee and that's his phone number and city he told me he lived in.... Too bad that puppy was so cute... :(:( |
Don't buy from sites that have payment options right on the site. Red flag. Don't buy from sites that have "puppies of the month" or "special discounts." Red flag. (Seriously? WTF is wrong with these sellers???) Don't buy from breeders that don't grill YOU for info as much as you should grill THEM. Don't buy from breeders that have no interest in YOUR home environment or how YOU will do things. Don't buy from breeders that won't answer ALL of your questions happily and willingly. I could go on, but the main point is Caveat Emptor. Buyer beware. It is up to YOU as the buyer to do the research. You can do a lot of research on finding a reputable breeder and what red flags to look for all over YT. I must say, I am a bit surprised after being burned once OP you didn't do your homework. After all, you were going to buy from a seller who has such obvious red flags associated with them. I hope you are more careful with your selection in the future. Do the research and buy your breeder first. Don't buy that cute puppy face. All pups are cute and easy to fall in love with, while breeders are not. Buy your breeder first. There are plenty of suggestions and resources for you to learn from right here on YT. Take the time to educate yourself before going to look for a pup. :) |
You got off lucky... |

She is very nice and great at answering my questions and I am going to meet the pups tomorrow. :) I'll add pics tomorrow. The pup cost $1200. Did you guys pay cash when you bought your dog? Is that typical to pay by cash for that price tag? What about Paypal or credit cards? |
I'm so glad you found someone in that org. I've only bought two yorkies over the years, but I paid cash for both. |
The site looks very professional, you would think that the breeder would have been a bit more social and forthcoming with the answers to your questions. In my opinion the pups looks full blooded. I'm sure that having the same birth dates is very common with breeder who have more than just one breeding female. I have heard that the females will usually be on the same heat cycle and go into heat at the same time. He is very addorable.... I hope that you are able to get the breeder to reconsider or go with the new breeder you found. Eather way your gonna love your new addition to the family I'm sure. Good Luck! |

So happy you didn't get taken on that other puppy - although he is adorable. Glad you found a good breeder and are going to meet the pups! How exciting! |
