Since day one Moshe has slept in his crate. He holds it all night and always has. As long as Cooper doesn't have a UTI or other health concern I think it would be fine to either ignore it and tell him to go lay down or place him in his crate at night. BUT he may freak on the crate thing if he isn't used to it. Bella never liked the crate. She wasn't having any of it and no one was getting any sleep. |

Cooper slept in his crate the first week I brought him home and that was it. I was a new puppy mom and had no clue. Brit, I'm with you. There's no way that Cooper would even step one foot into a crate. I could not even imagine how much worse that would be than just getting up twice a night in the middle of the night. |

In fact last weekend I took Moshe into my sons room to wake him up thinking he had out grown the peeing thing. I placed him by my sons head so he could lick on him and get him up and he peed on his pillow. He got up pretty fast then:D |

We just did our final potty break for the night and Cooper pooped! He never poops before bed. Maybe the earlier dinner feeding will help and perhaps I won't have to get up at 4am. |
Taycie does this sometimes too. Although it usually not the same time at night. If I don't take her right out before bed, I will be up. I hope the earlier feeding helps and you will be able to get some sleep. There was a week when Taycie got up anywhere between 2-4am to go out.. I started to think, what the heck is going on? But then she stopped when I started taking her out about 10 or 11 at night. Good Luck! I hope you will be able to get some ZZZZZZ's soon! |
Update on Poop Dog (oops, Coop Dog) Last night I woke up at 2:15 am to the horrible sound of a mosquito buzzing in my ear. And yes, I woke up Cooper:rolleyes: At that point he got off the bed to scratch the door. Knowing this was my fault I let him out. He did his business, grabbed a toy and went back to bed. Cooper, like clockwork, woke up at 4:15. Before he could get off the bed I said "Cooper NO get back to bed." He got down and rubbed his head all over the carpet (seasonal allergies:() and then scratched the door. He scratched 3 times. Again I said "Cooper NO! Get back to bed". And he did!! |
