Schnauzeritis | 05-09-2011 09:22 AM | Introduction Hi everyone,
My name is Mary and I'm the proud caretaker of a 1 year old yorkie mix. Eddie is the second dog that I've ever had. My first dog Max was a miniature schnauzer and he died on St. Patrick's day 2010. I didn't want another dog after Max died. He was all I thought about. He was so much a part of my life that I felt I wasn't whole without him. When I first got Max all those years ago I didn't realize that he would change my life and me at the same time.
My husband bought my yorkie mix from an acquaintance at work. As soon as he brought him in the door I told him "that is not a purebred yorkie". He looks like he might be mixed with Jack Russell. He weighs 15 lbs and he has one ear that stands up straight and another ear that flops over. He is adorable. He walks well on a leash and can sit, come, stay, wait, roll over, etc. The only problem I have with him is his aggression toward strangers. He bit my brother-in-law in the calf and my cousin in the calf. What I do now is whenever someone new comes over I put him in his crate and wait for him to get used to the new person. After a half hour or so he's fine. Anyone else have issues with aggression?
Thanks,
Mary |
