anybody know about American Purebred Registry?
 
Hi there, I would kow if somebody know about APR cause Pepper's breeder have all his dogs with that organization and what i see is common here in Puerto Rico, I just want to be sure :confused:.

APR is not reputable in my opinion- they register based on photos- no registration of the parents needs to be proved.

The only pure bred registry in the US is AKC.

One of the top breeders Marie Kaufman Cardona- Parkside Yorkshrie Terriers - residing in Puerto Rico only registers her dogs with AKC.

I have no idea about APR but what part of the island are you from?

I used lived in Arecibo but my family originates from Utuado. I miss it very much!

I would never buy from a breeder that only registered APR. You can register a DOG or CAT with just a picture. :rolleyes:

I am from the south part Juana Díaz right next to Ponce, and yes there is a APR organization I didn't knew about it. But I went to the breeder house a couple of times since he lives at 45 minutes from where I live, and as you know PR is so small you can drive around the island in one day jijiji:D well I saw dad and mommy they are purebred and beautiful both of them and I am in love with my Pepper and I don't think it a problem cause I jut want a pet to love not looking for breefdingh. What you guys think?

I think health first. What screening tests did the parents have done prior to breeding? What are any health problems in their lines, going all the way back to great grandparents?

What health tests did they do on their pups prior to releasing to the new owners? For example were BATS done? Did the vet state free of LP at the age the pup was released to you? what is the reputation of these breeders? Do they champion their dogs?
