Your babies are beautiful, and they haircuts look really nice... are u a professional groomer? i am going to start cutting my babies hair myself and need some tips... :D
any advice would be greatly appreciate it....

No I am not a groomer. Just do it myself as it really is not that hard. I just have a pair of walmart wahl clippers and a good scissors. With having three it is much cheaper for me to do myself. The clippers come with different lenghts that you attach to the clippers. I pick one and just start shaving my dogs sit very well for me. But have been doing it since they where pups. Then I did buy a groomer scissors for around eyes they have a blunt end. But I like just a small scissors almost better. And I use them to trim around ears and eyes.
Make sure they are combed put and no knots as the clippers would pull on the hair and hurt them. When my dogs are long I comb often so they do not mat.

I'm so scared to clip to close the quick of the nail....and i don't think I have what it takes to handle anal glad maintenance. But...I would save major bucks if I could learn how to do it myself.

I make my daughter do the nails. She worked with a vet for a few years. And as far as anal glands my dogs do not have any problems with that

Thanks for the tips!! i bought a grooming kit from amazon and a folding grooming arm as well, hopefully that would help me keep my babies still... i have 2 babies and i am about to change jobs and i wont be able to afford almost 100 a month for haircuts alone.. :(

i'll let you know how my experiment goes!! :eek:

Just take your time with them make it a great experience. I just set mine on a card table. Have not had to use a leash just put there collar on and if they move hold it for a second. Two of them I do not even need the collar. You will do great.

She charges me $50 per dog.
It would be great to learn to do it all by myself.
Mickey is a really good boy when I give him baths and brush out.
I think I could groom them myself if I knew the right shaver blade numbers and had a little instruction :)

I did it!!!! I cut my babies' hair! And I can't believe how good it turn out!! M computer is not working this week, but as soon as I get it fix I will post some pics!! I'm so proud of myself!!

I have 4 so it could become quite costly. I do the same thing. I shave them down for the summer. I do it on a table in the backyard because the hair just gets all over the place. They are so good and dont mind at all. My Coco gets tired and just lays down. he he. He is such an old man!! :rolleyes:

I started grooming mine myself years ago to save $$. I just went out & bought a clipper & tried it. Yes, I did have some "bad hair days", but I got better with time & expeirence. The main thing to keep in mind if you mess up is : IT'S ONLY HAIR, IT WILL GROW BACK!" The one thing I never mastered was nail clipping. I have always been just too scared of hurting them. I eventually went out & bought a dremel, so now I use it to sand their nails down. With multipile dogs, I save a TON of money by grooming them myself.

I do have to admit my one failure though, I could never groom our bichon mix.... the clippers could not get through his thick, curly fur. Not sure if it's my clippers or my technique, but he always goes to the groomer...:)
