Need some tips about grooming!! I hope i am posting in the right place, i am changing jobs and i wont be able 150+ a month for my girls grooming... their hair grows super fast!!! so i decided to learn how to cut my babies hair!! any recommendations??? also what's the best kit for trimming their nails??? assistance is greatly appreciate it! even on a budget i want my babies to feel and look like the princesses they are! |
Once I had 3 and now 4 I had to learn to groom myself. I keep mine in long coats so it is mostly washing, brushing and trimming. I just did trial and error, figuring hair will grow back. I have a grooming stand, good brushes and combs, a small trimmer for their ears and a nail trimmer. I don;t know how to use a regular trimmer on their bodies so I can't offer any advice on that. I know others will have some good advice for you. |
I bought a cd a couple of years ago and watched it at least 20 times before I dared. lol It's been almost 3 years and I think I do okay. Just got a compliment from the vet today as a matter of fact. lol I say to myself, "it will grow back". lol. I like doing it as it's a bonding time as well. I enjoy it. I do take them to get their nails and glands done tho. The place I used to take Hot Rod to does nails several times a week and glands for like $3 a dog-total!!! Can't beat that and a ton of people go for it as well. Good luck, I think you will enjoy it. :) |
I also need grooming tips. I now have 4 yorkies and can't afford to take them to be groomed. Worried about getting them to stand still. |
Youtube has several very helpful videos. I've always groomed my dogs. Scooter is so helpful when I trim his face. He squeezes his eyes shut. |
