If we are home, the pups always get free run. Leaving is another story. Even if they use appropriate toys and are potty trained when we are home, leaving them alone is a different story and not at all safe for them to be free. |
I think I left Cooper home alone freely when he was about 6 months. Max is another story. I can barely leave him unsupervised even if I'm home! He's such a huge troublemaker. He's 11 months old and when he's not climbing the furniture to reach the highest point possible he's eating and chewing anything and everything he possibly can. When I leave the house I tell him to "go to your playpen" and he runs there without issue. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to leave him without the playpen:( |
Bella didn\'t get free run of the house until she was well over a year old...not cause she wasn\'t potty trained but she was a chewer...DH and I called her our chewing machine...lol...so she was confined when we had to go out...or if we were busy and couldn\'t watch her like a hawk...she is 2 1/2 now and has full run of the house even when we are gone :D Harley is 7 1/2 mos old and we just started letting him have free run of the house when we are home...he doesn\'t chew anything but his toys and paper if he can get it LOL...but I still confine him when I have to go out and I know I will be gone a few hours...I have tested him a few times now when I just had to run out and wasn\'t gone very long and he did great...no accidents or chewing so I\'m thinking it won\'t belong now before I take the plunge and trust him for a few hours :D |
