How big will my NEW puppy be??? Hello..my yorkie friends. My NEW puppy is around 12 weeks old & is about 2 1/2 pounds...How big will he get. |
I am new with Yorkies although I've done a lot of research, but others may be able to help you get a little better idea by knowing the size of the parents. Also, the breeder you got your baby from should have a decent guesstimate by knowing the family history. :) |
They say to take the weight at 14 to 16 weeks, double it and add 1/2 pound! Mine ended up a little smaller thatn that. She was 1#9ozs at 16 weeks and at a year she is just 3#. Hope this helps! Pat |
I was wondering this too. I'm sure a lot has to do with genetics and overall health. Also, eating habits would affect the growth of the puppy too. Most Yorkies that I have seen are around 2 lbs. when they are somewhere in the 2-3 month range and end up being about 5 lbs. full grown. But, like I said, there are a lot of factors that can change that I am sure. |
I have heard to take the weight at 12 weeks and times it by two. But I just heard that so no gurantees |
Take the weight at 12 weeks x by 2 = adult weight . I've done that for Zsa Zsa and Altesse and it was right on target . Enjoy your adorable little one . This breed is so intelligent and full of life . |
