I am so sorry. Please keep a watch on her ears. I had two terrible groomer experiences. The last one gave my little girl an ear fungus. I never went back to groomers. I groom my own "scissoring". I have been dying to try some of the cute cuts others have done with the clippers but have been ill lately.

I also would call them and tell them of the cut and the ear infection.

That is absolutely ridiculous. I am SO SORRY. I was going to jokingly post that Teddy got a bad haircut yesterday too (he basically got shaved everywhere) but I cannot BELIEVE that the groomer nicked your dog and didn't even notice?! Is there a way to go back there and demand your money back? That is absolutely ridiculous!?:mad:

Everyone:

My plan is to call or go and talk to the manager at the groomer's (when I have a chance). I will explain what happened and how I am unhappy. I don't expect much other than that. I will not be taking Rylie back there, so a coupon or a free cut wouldn't help me. I am a business student and am not naive enough to think they would refund me anything after this long. :rolleyes: I am okay with that though.

Her hair grew out a little and she looks a lot better, or I'm just getting used to it :D However, it pains me to see her scratching her ears and shaking her head all the time :( We have to give her an ear wash once a day and antibiotics twice a day. I'm hoping it will clear up soon! My poor baby.

I'm so sorry your poor baby and you have had to go through this ordeal. For the sake of the other innocent victims that go to that groomer I hope you do go there and let them know the medical issues and pain your baby experienced because of this irresponsible and unskilled "groomer." It is so important that this person not be able to inflict herself on other pets in the future. I'm sure this person has done harm to other babies and your report may help in getting this treatment to stop.

i soo feel your pain..i only had my yorkie for 3 days before the groomer messed her up...i told him just trim around her paws and private parts….according to him, he had a family emergency and had someone else groom her. i go to pick her up and and she looks like a mini dragon...he shaved her entire body and left the hair on her head....and it's standing straight up.....looks so funny…I feel so bad. I'm going to take her to another groomer to maybe even her out some…hopefully it will grow back fast..she is only 3 months old and has very soft fur.

Oh my gosh poor baby. Brandy has been to 4 different groomers and I have never been happy. They just do what they want, not what they are told. I clip her myself now and we are both much happier. She may not be even everywhere but nobody notices.

i groom my shih tzu but didn't want to trim my little baby yet....i'm still really new to it and was scared i would nick her.....i posted some before and after pics...she is sleeping in the after so you can't really see the dragon look but i'm sure you can tell its not good :cry: i feel so bad about this....

i groom my shih tzu but didn't want to trim my little baby yet....i'm still really new to it and was scared i would nick her.....i put up some pics in my album of the before and after.....so so sad

It's really is not that bad, from your description I expected much worse. It will grow quickly and you will also get used to it. Your baby is really cute, even with the haircut.

For the sake of other dogs I hope you do make it very clear to the manager the harm that person did to your dog. Taking the vet bills as proof would be nice. I know you are not asking for money back but the bills would help show the manager how serious this is and hopefully they will retrain or fire this person so no other animal will suffer at their hands in the future.

I also have a Shih Tzu. Her hair is more like a cotton coat, I found it more difficult from preventing matting on the Tzu then my Yorkie with a silky coat. The Shih Tzu had to be shaved down , but she looked really adorable. Now, when My yorkie Suzi went to the groomers at Petsmart they shaved her ! I was really mad! She was not heavily matted. And I did not even get a phone call . I went to pick her up and saw her.. She really looked different and silly. She looked like a Chi. :mad: I had to pay a lot more money to them for making her look crappy too.. Now they have a new policy that says if you do not like the groom it is free. I still do not want to take Suzi back over there again.

Petsmart charges ridiculous prices for grooming. A shaved Shih tzu isn't the same as a shaved yorkie. My sassy is napping. I'm gonna post a pic of her awake with her dragon cut and you guys will see exactly what I'm talking about. It's starting to look cute to me cause it's so funny looking. Lol

It takes no skill at all to shave a dogs hair off. If that is what a person asks for fine but there are specific ways that certain breeds are supposed to be groomed. A groomer is supposed to know how to do these cuts. If all they do is shave your dog down you are being over charged.

At least it will grow back...
you can avoid most of the hair poking her eyes by cleaning her a few times a day.. it's a lot of work but it wont be for long, their hair tend to find their shape quite quickly.. :)
