Combs and Brushes??? Which ones do you use? Gabbi a very dense cotton type fur that is almost impossibe to get a comb or stripper brush through it. I just placed my order for the CC system and hope using it helps..Even the Vet says he has never seen a Yorkie that has the thick hair she does. Thanks. PS Boy this YT site gets addictive. Can't get enough of the great photos, especially the pups. |
I'm sorry I can't help you with the combs and brushes for that coat type. Mine is silky, so I use just about anything I pick up. I thought if I bumped this up that someone else that has a cotton coat could help you. :) |
I use a ball tip brush but I know what you mean about trying to get through aa cotton coat. A trick I have found that helps a cotton coat is to brush or comb the hair through when you have the conditioner on when you bathe them then rinse it out. |
I swear by the Chris system. She offers a ball tip brush I have looked at getting...I think I will with my next order. Should add....Brush through when ever you can. |
You shouldn't use a ball tipped brush, that pulls more of the hair out. If the hair is too thick use a thinning scissors and thin it, use a metal brush and when bathe mix a little bit of Suave Humectant conditioner in with what ever conditioner you use. Mix it well in a container with water, (I use a pitcher), mix enough water in so that you won't have to rinse it out. The Humectant helps to make brushing/combing much easier, especially if you use a dryer on your little one. |
You are right I should clarify my comment...Rounded tipped metal pin brush...the tips of the metal bristles are shaped/rounded. |
