Update:Oliver's behavior is getting worse
 

Ok... I need some advice... Oliver's behavior is getting worse. I put a thread on here a while back ago talking about my baby Oliver barking at a friend of mine that is staying at my house for a while. I got some great advice... Amy has been feeding him etc. We ignore him when hes being bad... now it has gotten worse and he actually snapped at her finger today!!! He NEVER does that:eek: When I had him at my parents house yesterday.. Amy came over and he didn't bark at all.
Any more advice? :confused:

He didn't react to your friend at your parents house. Maybe when he's at home, Oliver is saying to your friend that it's HIS house.

The only way he is going to stop barking is for you to assume the leadership role in the household, leaving no doubt that he has to do what you say. If his barking is that bad and he is biting, it is a considerable problem and he is going into dangerous territory. I would just suggest you really get into some of the study of how to deal with a dominent/aggressive dog before he really harms some one. You need to read that so that you can learn how your dog is thinking so you can best counteract his actions. Without a good deal of reading and starting into behavior modification training - getting him used to listening to and responding only to you, your doggie will just keep getting worse. It will take daily and frequent training sessions. You have to be really persistent. Have you tried removing him from the room every single time he starts barking - or you leaving the room when he barks? Those are some of the things that some of the behavior modification training techniques will suggest.

I did not read but a bit of your other thread back when you listed it so don't know what all was suggested but a good firm hand with this little guy will go a long way. Remember, you have got to outlast him and you have to have the last word in every situation. If you are not able to carry through with that every time, he may not change. Always keep the sessions short, loving, positive and rewarding for him so that he learns listening and responding to you is the best thing in the world.
