I saved my brothers dogs! So on Sat I went over to my brothers house to visit my sweet baby niece and of course brother and sil. They rent a condo, its one of those where you have the front door and stairs that go up to the main house. My brother has 2 dogs, a boxer and a min pincher. Well they were leaving and I was as well, I swear I saw my brother put the dogs in their crates… I picked up Pnut and began to walk down the stairs, I noticed my brother left the door open!! I told him “hey you left the door open” he just kinda groaned at me.. I leave and I am walking to my car and all of a sudden this boxer comes running up to me all excited and jumping around, I said to myself, is that Leo bc I swore my brother locked them up! I say “LEO” he then comes up to me, I put pnut in the car and try to go grab him, he wants to be a little turkey and run around I call my brother and tell him Leo is out ( Leo only listens to my brother) My brother comes out to get him ,then Grace comes running up!!! I told my brother he is VERY lucky Leo saw me leaving and ran up to me! I yelled at him for 5 mins, I said he is lucky Pnut didn’t get out!!! I was so angry at him! I told to him to have their collars on at all times!!! I was so frustrated with him! Then he had the nerve to tell me I LEFT THE DOOR OPEN!!!! Ugh I swear older brothers!!! Ugh it is so amazing how fast you can loose your pets! |
Your brother is very lucky you were on the ball. I think Yorkie owners may know better than anyone the dangers of an open door. I'm glad Peanut didn't get out and chase after your brother's dog, yikes! I have two older brothers so I can relate ;). |
I caught my neighbor's Shih Tzu yesterday as he was strolling down the sidewalk. I carried him to their house and when the teenaged son answered the door he thanked me and said "ya, this on always finds a way out of the fence". HELLO, fix your fence! Couldn't scold my neighbor, but you sure can with your brother;) |
MI Yorkielover- He is very lucky, and I don't think he knew how scary it could have been! I also know they have a very mean dog that lives there and we are lucky he wasn't on a walk at that time! I am so glad Pnut didn't get out, he knew I was leaving so he was attached to my hip, so I am very thankful!! AlicetheYorkie- Ya it made me mad bc as he was walking back holding Grace he said "thanks" Older brothers I swear!! I think he was caught off guard how mad I was and how much I was yelling at him lol! That owner was lucky to have you, I hate when people show no appreciation!! Those owners shouldn't be allowed to have a dog, bc one day she will get out and you wont be there to save her! |
Sounds like my brother. He had he Chi terrier mix outside when i pulled up in their driveway, for easter dinner. I thought he called the dog in , but after a half hour we see the dog outside.. I told him that he is very lucky his dog does not wander. They have a long driveway. We are planning on moving , and this is what scares me. My 2 always go out the front door with me on the balcony. They never have run down the stairs. So i will have to find a creative solution to wherever I move to make sure they stay safe. I have the yorkie and a shih tzu. My babies. |

I am moving in June and I need to really make sure Pnut doesnt get out, right now he knows where we live, when we walk, without me leading him or anything he will go to our door, but with the new house I am nervous how long it will take him... Plus I never would want him to get loose bc of the hawks and coyotes out! The house is backed up on a hill so we have to be xtra xtra careful!! |
your brother is lucky to have a sister like you, brothers act so typical don't they?;) |

When he is let loose in my grandparents fenced in yard we still keep a eye on him. You never know if another animal made a hole or whatever. I usually walk around before he is let out and now that he's twelve he runs around and then once he has tired himself out he stays close. |
Lucky thing you were there. |

I followed them as long as I could, blasting my horn from a distance, but they never heard me. Both I and the dog lost them in traffic after about a mile. I stopped, got out and tried to get the dog to come to me, but he was afraid and lost and took off running again. I never found out if he made it safely or not. He was in a lot of traffic, just trying to catch up to his clueless owner. |
