How old does my pup look?
 

Hey there! My name is Dani, and my new pup is Kimchi. We are currently stationed in Seoul, South Korea. here you get puppies from the shady puppy stores, which is what we did. Puppy mills, pet stores are not frowned upon here, especially in a country where dog is on their menu. Obviously this is not normal for us in the states.
Anyway we bought our pup yesterday from the most legit place around, and he is trying to tell me that the pup is 9 weeks old. However, Im not buying it. I have never owned a yorkie but I will post a few pics to get opinions on his age. He only has a few teeth, 2 on top and maybe 2-6 on bottom. He has been great in the last 24 hours though. Has only gone potty on his wee wee pads, slept in the Kennel without crying, eats and drinks healthy. But I just wanted to get a more realistic date for his age, and any special care I might need. I have done a lot of googling but its hard to weed the good info from the bad. Anyway any info or advice will be great!! he is a little wobbly on his feet but we have hardwood. He loves to cuddle and he plays often.

and yes we do plan on taking him to the vet, and keeping him up on all his shots! I have a lot of time for now on my hands and enough patience to go around!

Welcome to YT! You have a beautiful pup - really cute. In my opinion, he looks like only 6-7 weeks old. I'm not an expert at all - just a guess. Enjoy him! You'll find a lot of really helpful people on YT!:)

Oh my, he's a cutie but I have to agree, he looks young. Make sure he is eating several times a day, I'd even give him canned food as well.
He doesn't look 9 wks to me either.

He does look pretty young...but I don't know anything!

When I adopted Snickers, we weren't sure of his age. I got three different estimates from three different vets. One said probably 6 months, one said 8-12 months and another said 18 months to 2-years!

I'm sure your vet will give you an estimate when you take him there....although there will be people here who can give you a good idea.

He sure is cute. How much does he weigh? Don't they have registration papers there?

Poppy was 7 weeks old at the time of that pic and was beginning to get her teeth in.

Yes, while I was stationed there I saw this is just a few places. Mind you, the dog isn't like the kind of dogs we know. They are raised as livestock and served as such. They wouldn't take a yorkie and chop it up to put in stew.
Don't worry, I didn't try Fido, but I did feel a tiny bit better knowing it wasn't random strays that they feed. And most of the younger generations don't eat it, and I think they are trying to get it outlawed.

In my opinion, OP your pup is not 9 weeks old yet. Sorry the guy lied.

he looks about 5-7 if I had to guess.. we have pictures with harley as a pup (when we visited him) and that's what he looked like at that age.

He looks like my Riley did when I went to pick him out at at 6-weeks....[went back about a month later to bring him home....].

The do. I wont try it either. Its actually illegal to consume or sell it, but its not enforced since its a cultural and traditional thing. I I agree with the other poster, the younger generation doesn't eat dog. I started him on canned food today mixed with his hard food!

They dont have registration papers here =/ Its NOTHING like the states, our lil pup was less than $400. Some of the puppies they get can hardly walk look about 4 weeks old, its heartbreaking but to them its just normal. I have seen some really horrible pet shops here with really sick pups, they dont get treatment, they just put them in the back pins and let them slowly die, and its legal and not frowned upon. To me its just so sad. But Im glad that our Kimchi was able to come home with us!
We made a vet appointment, but he cant get in until may 16th, I guess that how its goes when there is only one vet on base!

Hmmm...I just checked it and I don't see any virus there at all. It may just be some virus that you picked up, and it may be triggered (on your computer) when you click on outbound links or something...

My virus program also blocked the site---:confused:
