I don't need a little more "Whine" :yorkiej: Help. A couple days ago my 15 month old male Yorkie, Riley, started bothering my 11 year old male Yorkie, Henlee. Henlee is neutered and Riley is not. Riley whines all of the time and rubs up against him, he even will try to hump him, he will not leave him alone for one minute. It is driving us all crazy.:confuse2: When we first got Riley, he was aggressive and tried to hump him all of the time. As he got older he seemed to calm down and it all but stopped. That is why we don't know what is going on. |
This is like having a toddler and a sixteen year old boy play together, Most 16 year old boys aren't interested. Riley wants to play, the humping is how dogs interact with other dogs. I've read of this happening before, there is just too much of an age difference. Neutering Riley will cut down on the humping, but maybe someone else can give you advice on how to help them tolerate each other better. By the way, Cesar suggests taking you dogs on walks together; this helps them to feel more bonded with each other. It also might tire Riley out a little. Good luck! |
I understand that some male dogs are pretty miserable if left un-neutered and they are pretty constantly looking to mate. It would probably help him a lot to have the surgery and be done with it. |
