Princess is licking......
 
Princess was in heat last in March, she was spayed March 7th.

For the last few days she has been licking herself a lot, just like she'd do when she was in heat. She will be in the middle of playing or running and have to stop to do it.

There is nothing there that I can see, but I just wanted someone else' opinion before I call the Vet & look like the hypochondriac dog owner I am.:p

Could it be anything that you know of/heard of? She just had a bath yesterday, same shampoo's etc.

I know it is not uncommon for them to get a UTI after spaying. The little foster pom I had got one after her spay. I would have the vet check her out to be sure. Good luck.

Last October I had my girl spayed and she was trying to go pee all the time. She was also licking herself so I brought her in and it was a uti. The doctor put her on meds and she cleared up fast. Hope this helps.

yes, thanks ladies. i will be calling & hopefully getting in to the vet tomorrow. if i can't get into mine i will take her to my mom's which takes walk-ins. if that's what it is i know it can't be comfortable.:(
she's symptom free otherwise, so it probably is just a uti.

You can also try getting a urine sample and take it in to the vet. They can check it pretty quick for a UTI. Good luck.

that's a good idea, too. and that would be less stressful than a cath i'm sure. but how would i go about getting one?:confused:

Just pick her up hold her over a container and squeeze ;):eek::D

i think i'll just give her a pot of coffee then put a bowl on top of her pad...we should get some results then!:p:eek::p

That just might work but you would probably need a pretty big bowl for a whole pot of coffee she'll be giving you a river!:p
