She's Here!!! Yesterday I picked up my new baby Yorkie!!! She is sooo adorable. At 8 weeks old she is very playful and well mannered.:D The first night went great, hardly any whining and she slept a good bit. Her name is Nala. I was wondering though how to make sure she eats enough. She is eating but only little bitty amounts. I have yet to introduce her completely to our six year old Golden Retriever, being a little nervous about the idea. |
Welcome to you and Nala!! Congratulations!! |
What an adorable name! Please post pictures! |
Congrats on Nala! Welcome to YT!!! |
Congratulations. Since she is so young make sure you have Nutrical on hand in case she should go hypoglycemic (low sugar). They can easily get that if they are not eating enough and frequently. Can't wait to see pictures. |
Welcome! That is a beautiful name. I have a pac n play that I will be putting my baby in,so the pack can see her,she can see them and noone can touch. I like it because it is off of the ground ( I will be using it for our travel trailer) and portable. This worked very well 10 yrs ago when I brought 2 tiny poodles home and we had a 70lb 6yr old dog. Nutrical can be purchased at most Vets. I purchased mine from a Banfield vet located in PetSmart,my regular vet didnt have it in stock. |
congrats hun! make sure you post pics.. i just got my little girl a 2 weeks ago and am still having the same problem.. i posted the same question and i guess its normal for them to pick at their food. i add a little water to the kibble to soften it for her little teeth and that seems to help |
Congrats on Nala! Welcome to yt! Make sure to post pics:) |

Congrats on your new baby Nala! Can't wait to see pics. This site is full of great information and very helpful people. :D |
Thank you everyone! Oh and I was wondering how to post pictures? I am having trouble figuring it out. Thanks! :] |
I'm still so new - click around in your profile and find the "Album" word or link, click on it and name it, etc., then look for the workd "upload" and it will let you browse your computer for pics. Am doing all this from memory but I think that is how I found out how to upload pictures was by making an album somehow on my CP page. Good luck and welcome to you and your new baby! |
Welcome to YT, and congrats on the new baby. She is little!! I have 3 other dogs besides my little Teddie, who is now almost 18 weeks. I got him 6 weeks ago and he is in good with the other 3 now. I have 2 large dogs and got him used to them, and them him, slowly. I have great command over them so I felt comfortable. Balance, our black lab, took to Teddie first. He sniffed him, barked in his face loudly, then proceeded to act like a proud poppa. :p It took the other 2 dogs a little longer. Our German shep mix is fine with new additions as long as it isn't a female like her. Our pom was hardest, as he was our baby, but he got used to Teddie in a week. My advice is to just be slow, let them sniff around one another and with mine I say "Niiiiiiice." They know this command to keep them calm and friendly. Good luck and enjoy your baby and the site...it is chock full of all the information you could ever need, and everyone seems so friendly and helpful. :) |
Congrats, and I love her name! :) Can't wait to see pics. |
