7 in a litter
 
My puppy is coming from a litter of 7 is that a lot?

The most my yorkies have ever had is 5 and that was Grace last year. Grace weighs 4.5 pounds and I thought 5 was a lot, I can't imagine 7. How big is the mother? Liz generally has 2 and Molly had 3. All my moms are on the small side.

i'm actually waiting on a response from the breeder as to what size is the mom. How big do you think she could be?

i got my yorkipoo from a breeder in dandridge, tn...when i went to pick pedro up, penny's 5 pound yorkie, haley, had 7 babies, all of them were tiny. but they're doing great. here's her website...

lol yea i'd like to see photos of Haley's 7 also mcshambo. When i go to the breeders on friday I will definitely take photos of all 7 if they are still there. ;)

When I got my yorkie, the breeder had a litter of 3 and another litter of 7 that had just been born. I picked my puppy from the litter of three, but that was mainly because I wouldn't have to wait so long to get her because she was already 4 1/2 weeks. The mother of the litter of 7 looked a bit bigger than the mother to mine, but I would guess she was probably 6 1/2 or 7 pounds, which is within norms for a yorkie! Best wishes on getting your baby...believe me...I know how excited you must be...wasn't that long ago I was waiting with great anticipation for mine!

Archie only had a sister. He's 10 lbs., and she's 3 lbs.

Missy is 5 lbs, Her biggest litter was 4, A larger mommy can have more. also a bigger male can throw small pups . I laughed when a girl told me that Missy had three pups and the male was also 5lbs the two girls weigh 2 lbs. I see one everyday. the male weighs 3.5. So they can throw smaller pups . ask what pups weigh at this age. There is a chart that is pretty close on what pups can weigh as adults.

I drove an hour to go buy this yorkie from this breeder down south Texas. She told me she had a litter of 9. When I got there I saw 7 puppies and ask where the other two. She told me they didn't live. Sad... I didn't buy any from her cus I think that she was try to sell her pups out when it wasn't time for them to leave. The mother was huge maybe 10lb or so. The dad was about 5lb. There were flakes on the head of all the pups tells me that she probably didn't take good care of them. So I just said thank you and leave.
