How about asking management to fix the door? A self-closing door shouldn't slam -- it should stop itself a few inches from closing completely and then slowly glide shut. |

Hopefully, it can be worked out without getting to that point. |

I hope you are able to solve the problem before it gets to that point. |

Any updates on the annoying neighbors? I thought about you and your babies today. Sad that I think about YT threads at work. Hehe! :p |
hi Just reading your thread... I hope all is going well!! I would say get as much support as you can and document!! Moving is expensive and you never know who you move next to. I am sending good thoughts and prayers that all works out!! You got to keep sweet princess safe:p and of course your daughter and your self!! |
I didn't get down to speak with the manager but I will be tomorrow, I have my 7 week old nephew so it's kinda hard...not complaining!!:D It was noisy all day today, but so far so good for night number 3. I guess I just wonder if it's not so hard after dark why is it before? I'm going to start laying a towel down in front of my door so hopefully that will keep it still. I'm also going to get something like those floor protecting pads for furniture, or better yet ask maintenance. All of the doors can slam shut, and they don't have that mechanism on the top, but they just close. I don't hear anyone else's doors slam. And of course it will happen sometimes, bringing in groceries, or just in a hurry or an accident or whatever. I just don't want them twisting this situ around & I stated that to her earlier. Princess is doing great on refraining from barking during the day. Yes, she freaks out if an unfamiliar man comes ie. ups, rx delivery etc. but otherwise she is being very good. But she does look at me for reassurance & praise so maybe she's not so good when I'm gone. Thanks again, everyone & I will update tomorrow!:) p.s. princess would never hide! that wild child tries to take on huskies, st. bernards, you name it! |
I spoke with the office manager & she encouraged me to let her intervene. She said she does not want me addressing any issues with them. I don't know if this is because there are other problems with these guys or what. She is going to send them a letter & say that several neighbors have complained. She did point out that I'm not the only one there, next door & below are probably hearing it, too. I think I defended Princess well (tho I didn't really have to) just in case they do try to flip it around on me. I also told her how he was encouraging aggressive behavior from his dog toward mine, even though it was a year ago, she listened well. I am nervous about them getting the letter, I wont lie. Me & my daughter have predictable schedules down to the minute M-F. I'm probably going to go buy some pepper spray today just for peace of mind, and maybe even for Jazz. She could walk out with it then put it in my car so she doesn't take it to school. I don't know. I don't like to look or be paranoid, but I can't turn a blind eye to it either. Thanks everyone, for being such great friends on YT. We should get together...all 25,000 of us!:p But someone else will have to buy lunch!;) |
I wish you safety!! I can understand your fear as I'm sure everyone else does. You are teaching Jazz a good lesson in protecting herself too. Might try changing up your schedule and good idea about a towel to block the light. I'm from Miami.... we locked our doors and kept away from weirdos and mean people. Mean people suck! |
Am glad you took proactive steps but stay cautious. It is scary to run afoul of a nutjob -hopefully you haven't and he was just acting out a bit on these occasions and will settle down - or leave with the increased scrutiny. I had this happend to me with a patient of ours and it was a scary time, finally the police stepped in. So, you never know but it is good you have gone on record and others are getting involved. Hope the doorslamming and the rest are over for good! |
It is just awful that you have to feel nervous and apprehensive at home. You are in a tough situation and I wish you safety and peace. Marcy |
Sounds like the manager was very professional and proactive about the situation. If it's comforting, at least there are other neighbors that are having a issues with him. So, everything has been documented. I carry pepper spray on my keychain too! :D I don't live in a rough neighborhood by any means, but you never know (plus my neighbors are just down right weird). Keep us updated, and give Princess a kiss from me and Gizmo! |
Better than pepper spray is hornet spray, like you get at Home Depot. |
 I am just ever so sorry that you have to deal with this..... That guy is such a *********.. I hope and pray that it will all work out for you & Princess. Good luck, that is just not right at all!! I really really hope that he will get kicked out & have to move away.... :aimeeyork:animal36:animal-pa |
