Have you ever used waterless shampoo? For some reason Princess has been giving me a terrible time lately to even get her into the bathroom & more so once in the tub. I wondered if I could cut down her baths to maybe once or twice a month (instead of 4 X's) if I used some of the waterless stuff in between. Her hair is short, plus I have diluted conditioner in a spray bottle if needed. What do you think? Would she still be clean? Is that stuff pretty effective? Would it irritate her since it's not rinsed out? Thanks, and as always I welcome all opinions & facts!:) |
I have and hated it. Did nothing but ended with a sticky mess that didnt do the job. I bathe mine right in the kitchen sink whether they cooperate or not, after a while they stopped putting up a fight. Lol I use the kitchen sprayer to rinse and lysol kifchen complete to.sanitize the sink prior and after. |
Forgot to mention......i use CC day to day shampoo, conditioner and ice on ice for combing in between baths. For me, this is the best products to keep clean, repell dirt, and maintain a matt free coat. All equal less baths per month. Worth the price, imho |
Anyway you can do it in the kitchen sink? I use a plastic tub that fits in the sink, so he has pretty good footing, and the noise isn't overwhelming, like it can be in the bathtub. A sprayer works well, as long as you test the water on the inside of your arm, and you can use a cup. Making bath time more comfortable might be the trick. I wrap Joey in a heated towel (microwaved) afterwards and Joey is very cooperative. |
I used some once years ago on a dog who had been injured and had major surgery and couldn't be groomed for months- the groomer had actually given us the stuff- honestly it made more of a mess than just not doing anything at all because it left a weird film after. |
I've tried in the kitchen sink, though it's been a while and I had to catch her mid-air as she was jumping ship. I don't know if other yorkies are like her but when she squirms, like for nail trims, not even 3 adults can hold her down wrapped in a towel without fear of hurting her. Also, as luck would have it maintenance just removed my sprayer because it was cracked & the new management company wont replace them:rolleyes::rolleyes:. I'll try her bath tonight in the sink though, and have my daughter spot her.;) And I'll just have a couple of large cups filled & ready to rinse her. |
