I'll say that's high! Our vet charged us $213.00 for Sophie's spay and one baby tooth extraction. We also live in Michigan.

Our vet is one that is only in our area Certified. I was given a quote for 1 exrtraction, dental cleaning, and a spay would of been approx 300. and up for the pain meds and any antibiotics.

I just had my Nicco at the vet today and she said his teeth looked ok, but to start more diligently with his dental health or he is on the road to needing a cleaning, which she quoted at about $200, which includes pre-blood work. My baby Dash is getting neutered this week and has 2 retained baby canines they are pulling at the same time at $15 each. I'm not sure the conversion from Canadian to US dollar, but your quote sounds extremely high. Hopefully, you can get a 2nd opinion.

Had Keno neutered on the 6th, he had three teeth pulled, baby teeth he had not lost yet. The total bill with blood work and pain meds was 212.00. That was here in Florida.

I'm from AB, Canada. We went to the vet on Thursday for wellness exams and distemper for Odie and Tila. My cat D'art also went in for his rabies. For all three it cost $275. They gave me 20% off, because I took all three in together. While there I asked about dental cleanings. Odie needs to get his teeth cleaned and she said Tila's were in good shape. The quote she gave me was $450 each and up. Depending on if extractions, etc. were needed. I do live in a small town and the three vets here all work the surrounding vet offices. I'm going to call around and check prices in the nearby city, but I feel comfortable with my vet and the office is only two minutes away. All in all, I don't think $450 is too bad?

I used to go to a Board Certified Vet Dentist... they can do wonders. Fix broken teeth, gold caps on k9 teeth, correct bite problems, jaw surgery, he basically can do anything they can do for humans... at a cost.

Something that really helps with plaque are Himalayan Chews. Toby's teeth weren't the whitest when I got him but ever since I've been giving him the chews, the vet comments on how clean his teeth are. RDB11 sells them and has excellent customer service. You can't buy them at Petsmart or Petco. I've only found them at pet boutiques and that's about the only thing I buy from the place because their prices are outlandish. But I have ordered from RDB11 before and would definitely order again if I was unable to find them locally.

Where I live, I would expect xrays to be included. If not, a full mouth set would run between $90-$125. I think xrays are important bc they can detect early onset of tooth decay which can then be repaired whereas if you wait, the tooth would have to be extracted (by the time it becomes visible to the naked eye). Also if a tooth is beginning to abcess it will show early on in an xray, as abcesses can be very painful and the resulting infection can be life threatening.

Last year I paid $450 - $500 to have Buster's teeth cleaned and some baby teeth extracted. This included the pre-op blood work.

I pay $300 for CBC, and Dental. Extraction are $6.00 a tooth.

$350 for bloodwork, anesthesia, IV, monitoring, a cleaning, xrays AND extractions? Hmmmm

Yep, thats what we pay around here. With xrays around $400. Bloodwork around $100, anesthesia $150, cleaning $35 and extractions $6.00 a tooth.

I just had my Lizzie's teeth cleaned about two weeks ago, it cost me $214.00 and that included the blood work I had done the week before. How ever she didn't have any teeth extracted.

$350 would be the price around here for no extractions or maybe a couple incisors. I think the difference come in in the extraction price. It was $8.00 a tooth. I think they just raised it (and the triple rooted, difficult to get out ones are much closer to $50). And OraVet brings the price up a bit.
