Question about breeding is it immoral if my lulu had a boy and a girl and one day they mate? do dogs forget they are siblings when they grow old? |

and I dont think they know that they are siblings , when the girl comes in heat the boy will try and mate with her. |
Why do you want to breed brother and sister ? |
Brother and sister should NEVER be bred. |
Full brother and sister should never be bred. One of them needs to be altered. Puppies resulting from this breeding would be complete genetic disasters. This is why it is illegal to marry your brother and have children. To do something like this would be completely irresponsible on your part. |
Brother and sisters are simply NOT ever allowed to mate! Would you have babies with your brother? Eww.. :p They will if left to their own decisions. They do not know and don't care if they are related and will mate when the female goes into heat. One of the dogs needs to be fixed (rather both should be fixed anyway if they aren't for breeding) If they were to breed, it would be a terrible incident soley due to your own irresponsible actions. I kinda hope this was a joke question.. :eyebrow2: |
breeding it's not so much of a moral issue as a HEALTH issue. Please take a science class about genetics. Basically everyone has some bad recessive genes. If two people get together both with these recessive genes there is a chance they will become active genes and something bad can show up. It should be illegal to breed like this. You can get sued if you sell a puppy with a genetic disorder. It's called the puppy lemon law. |
besides, the morality issue only lies with humans...dogs don't care or know for that fact. either way, the genes are too closely related. |
The dogs won't know that it is inbreeding, but you will. Brother and sister should NEVER be bred .... it is asking for an unjustly genetic disaster. Totally unfair to any pups that would be born. I am glad you asked though, because now you know for sure that it is a big "no no". |
cheryl said everything i wanted to say. breeding relatives drastically increases the chance of bringing out very bad characteristics. i skimmed this article and it seemed to give a pretty good explanation for you in terms of dogs http://www.netpets.com/dogs/referenc...diversity.html |
thanks everyone for your opinions; i did not mean to spark something bad; just it's my first time having a dog and these thoughts came up. now i know! =) |
