Try this method if you want your puppy to eat dry food. Most puppy doesn't eat dry food because is kind of too hard for them to bite. My puppy only eat few kibbles a day, but after i tried to break down those kibbles into very small pieces she ates it a lot and more. I put 1cup of kibble in the bag and smash with a hammer. After that it will become very tiny piece dry food :). Now my puppy eats well on dry food. Hope this helps and im not sure if anyone tried this before or not i just want to share my good news to people. |
Great Idea! Thanks for taking the time to post this idea. |
Great idea - but I will put in baggie and smash with a canned good. |
I put Macs in the coffee grinder! Lol! Then I mixed in some chicken broth. He is proving to be very picky! |
My dog eats anything in any form! I'm so grateful he's a healthy eater but not fat. When my Jilly was sickly from her GI problems, sometimes I used to use the hammer/bag method of almost powdering her kibble and it worked for her and she seemed to eat more that way, bless her little soul. Thanks for sharing the idea because it does work! |
I chop up their food in the slap chop thing advertised on tv. |
Keno is from the I will eat anything in any form school of Yorkie's. At 6 months he is at 9.5 pounds and I will really need to watch that he does not get fat. |
works great for me:). can you guys see my profile picture? why i can't see mine |
I have used a blender ,take care to hit the pulse button only once or twice. |
If your Kibble is too large, might consider Solid Gold Just a Wee Bit -- tiny little kibble! It is an All Life Stage food too so if you have different ages around the house, they can all eat the same food. That was why I made the switch. My adult Ben was getty chubby sneaking in and eating Annie's puppy food (along with his own!). Now they all eat the same thing and the tiny, tiny kibble is perfect for little mouths! I would not pulverize the kibble for too long. The act of crunching on hard kibble helps to keep tartar build-up off their teeth. If they are always eating the powdered form, or the porridge from adding water to it, you may find you have to clean their teeth after each meal or wind up with some serious dental problems by the time they ar a year old. |
Is the actual name "Solid Gold Just a Wee Bit"? Where do you find your kibble? |
