I know that your contract might not include a health guarentee, but I would still try to talk to the breeder about this. Not for nothing, but you bought not one, but TWO dogs from her for quite a bit of money. I would think that she would want to keep her reputation untarnished as a breeder. If you have this problem, there could be dozens of others that are or will go discover the same conditions in their babies. My cousins just lost their English Mastiff that was just over 2 years old. Even though their breeder gives a one-year guarentee, she went above and beyond what was legally required of her and GAVE them another Mastiff because she felt so bad. There are good breeders out there that really care about their dogs (and not their bank accounts!) and will want to help you, but if you don't talk to her she'll never know what's going on. |
I'm so sorry that this is happening. :( It would be a good idea to at least let the breeder know that she's selling yorkies with serious problems even if she's not going to help you out with the costs. Check out the pet lemon laws in your state and see if there's anything that can be done that way. Also, I believe that luxating patellas can be corrected with surgery, and with the MD, there are medicines that your baby can take that will keep her liver functioning right. Please keep us posted on any updates and let us know what your breeder tells you... Good luck! |
It seems like the health guarantee you got is pretty common...they will give you are refund or replace the puppy? as if. |
