So upset So I took Kelsey to get groomed. At petsmart. I have taken my other dog Kami to a petsmart groomer for her entire life, five years. So I decided to take Kelsey to a petsmart a little closer to my house. My mother dropped her off for me then I went to pick her up. The only thing I noticed at first was they did not put her up, and my mom specifically told them to do that. I'm very nonconfrontational so I just left. later I noticed that she had a knot in her hair and they did not groom her face at all. Basically she looked better BEFORE she went there. I don't know what to do. |
Well the good thing is that they did not hurt her. I was worried at first when I saw your post. I would speak with someone there if you want to have them fix her. Good luck. |

A bad haircut can be an awful experience... I'm just glad (as the others who posted said) that Kelsey's okay! Hair will grow back - and hopefully you'll get some satisfaction (ie refund or fixing the job) when you call them. I know it's not always easy to voice your displeasure but I'd say you should definitely let them know you are unhappy. Good luck! |
I took Rosie to a groomer once and had a bad experience. I did call and voice my concerns over the situation. I did not receive my money back but was promised by the owner that she would do it herself the next time. Needless to say, I took Rosie back and the owner did not show up to do the grooming. So, I never have been back nor will I go back in the future. I found an individual that does all of Rosie's grooming now. I am much happier and she does what I want instead of what she wants. Good luck with calling them. I hope they will give you a refund. I think some of them just don't understand how we Yorkie mommas are about our babies haircuts. |
I had a place nick my babies once, was a horrible experience! i always get nervous when they get groomed! |
As others said- much better to have a bad haircut then have your baby hurt. What I found worked the best was to find a groomer who let me stay- this way I could explain exactly what I wanted as they were grooming and I could also see how they treated my pup and interacted with them. Once I trusted the groomer and knew I was getting what I wanted, I felt comfortable leaving them. Now I can literally drop them off, or have someone do it for me, and have no need to speak with the groomer because she knows exactly what I want and I feel comfortable knowing they are treated good and safe. |
I haven't taken Riley yet to get groomed. I have heard too many horror stories... and am a little nervous. My sister used to have a grooming business so she has shown me some things and I got a grooming book. I have been keeping his hair a little long during the winter... and can trim him up really nice....but when it starts to get Hot & Humid, this summer, I may want to shave him down and I'm not sure I am going to be able to do it myself. I am going to order a couple of the grooming videos for Yorkies and research as much as I can. Also, the Groomer my vet recommended does Yorkies for $70. Ouch!! Hope you were able to get a refund or get done what you wanted done. |
