i work 9-3 in a school(home at 12 for an hour) as a teaching assistant and at 3 0clock I get so excited about the walk we are about to go on , only yesterday my boss thought he was doing me a favour by asking if I want to work to 4 everyday for extra money , apparently theres a problem child that chose me he wants to work with , bless him. Anyhow you should have seen the look onmy bosses face when I said no thanks my yorkies need me. Priceless lol

I love it!! I would say the same thing too. Some people just don't get it-the way we feel about our babies!!

I know what you are saying. My friends think I am totally losing it. Sometimes they will ask if I want to go somewhere after work, nope gotta get home to my babies.

I had one friend tell me you are letting those "dogs" control your life.

My response was..... First off they are not "dogs", well maybe in your eyes.

They are my babies (children) in my eyes.

my babies mean everything just like everyone on here , there was no way I was letting anything take my time with them away:D

Some times I run out of ideas on how to make people understand that my little ones ARE my kids :thinking:

Money isn't everything, and a yorkie's love can really make us feel whole. I agree, OP your priorities seem to be straight. :)

I feel the same way, I hardly ever pick up extra shifts at the hopital because of my chetser boy and I work part time already, he is the love of my life

:thumbup: All I can say is, "Bless You" for standing up for yourself and your babies. My family and friends think I am crazy too, but now that my neighbor and best friend has 2 yorkies, She ~really~ understands me.

Awe I love to read stuff like this cause it reminds me that I'm not crazy! Who am I kidding? We're all crazy...crazy for our adorable little babies!! I work from home and spend all my day with her and STILL hate being away. I have honestly been out with friends shopping, having dinner, whatever and I will keep checking the time and count the minutes/hours I've spend away from Roxy, If it's been over a certain amount of time I just insist on having to leave. I've even made up excuses other than " I miss Roxy" so I don't get ridiculed.:hearts33:-->:aimeeyork

Thats awesome!! People just dont understand how we feel about our babies...even my hubby. Although, he has adopted our new puppy as his own. I will catch him snuggling, kissing his cheek every 5 seconds, etc...and when he sees that Im watching...he quicky replies...He just a dog!! Its funny, because hes made fun of me for 2 years with my baby...now HE KNOWS!!

you don't own a yorkie, they own you!
and i agree, my babies are my kids....on my way out from my inlaws i always say bye grandma, grandpa....lol they look at me like im nuts....i tell them, they're ure grandkids too!

Sounds like you and I are one in the same! I don't get to work at home, so I REALLY feel guilty if I have to go somewhere after work!!! I always come home first.(Even during the day I come home to let them out!!!) ;)

I am at home all the time. (retired/disability) And everytime I leave to go to the grocery store, or a place I cannot take her, I definately feel guilty. It makes me feel like I just left my baby home alone by herself. Gracie is 9 months old today, and is 3.5 lbs. Love her to death. She sleeps with me Every nite. I lost my little Raindrop Dec.2010, so now I have really gotton attached to Gracie. (my avatar)

Ah -- love it! We need more people like you who are willing to put their Yorkies before the almighty dollar!

Mine are literally sitting on my feet today as I have been online too much. They like to stay right on top of me so I don't forget whose most important -- I think it is time to go outside again! :)

I hate leaving my babies. We usually take them everywhere with us. If they're not allowed in, I sit in the car with them while hubby runs in. We only vacation in the USA now so the babies can come!

We had one of our boys on meds and monthly testing that was more than we could handle along with the mortgage....something had to go.....we sold the house, moved into an apartment one state over (couldn't find an apartment that would rent with 2 dogs locally) and relocated jobs.....1 1/2 years later, Casey passed, and we bought another house.....would do it again in a heartbeat:aimeeyork
