Totoro, 16 weeks! 4 Attachment(s) Hello! I joined when he was 10 weeks and just thought I'd show his progress! He is 16 weeks (technically tomorrow) but he got weighed today and is 2.2kg (4.8lbs) lil piggy hehe I wonder how big he'll get, any ideas? I'm ruling out the estimated "4 lbs" as the breeder told me. I'm guessing around 7, maybe more, which is fine by me :D Also his ears have not since shown any signs of raising (I love his floppy ears!!) and his coat has not started growing out different colours. Any possibility he might stay pretty dark since he hasn't started changing yet? Totoro is adorable! Love the pic of him standing up on his hind legs!! He looks like a cuddly little teddy bear, such a cutie!! :):) As for his ears, most will shave the ears to take the weight off of them to help them stand. You could post this question in the grooming and or breeders section and you could get some info on how to do that :) He looks like he is going to stay dark, but at this age it is hard to tell, its only my guess. Yorkies change colors so often, I love that about them!! |

I did ask about the ears earlier but I decided to do nothing about it lol :D so if by some magical way they stand then super! but I prefer his down, I just feel like it's more.. "him" :) I'm too used to it & I'm really curious about his coat.. I just wonder if showing no colour change at 4 months is normal? Is there a certain age most start changing at? |

My, my he is such a little doll! As far as his weight is concerned, I think there is just no true way to tell besides time. Bella weighed 3lbs 2 oz at like 16 or 17 weeks I think. By the charts it said she would probably weigh around 5lbs full grown. Well, she nearing 6 mos and a week ago at the vet she weighed 5lbs 2 oz. I'm guessing she will be closer to 7 lbs or so full grown. Now his coat may or may not start breaking around this time. Bellas did! It is still going through that change and probably will for a while to come! She is going through what I like to call an awkward stage. :p Somebody with more experience may come along and correct me because I'm not 100% sure of any of this, but I believe you actually want their coat to "break" a little bit later on. Can't remember the reason exactly, but if I'm not mistaken I think it has something to do witheither texture or color, or both. Although, you and I aren't planning on showing our Yorkies none of that really matters! :D |
