Anyone else with a yorkie with huge appetite? Its funny, i read all the comments about picky eaters. ANd i consider myself lucky i guess. My yorkie from day one at 7 weeks(he was given to me from a man who didnt want him, and already had him at 6 weeks , sad!) ANyway, from 7 weeks , he has never ever been picky. Infact, i have never given him anything he wouldnt eat. He loves loves loves food. Any dry or wet dog food. They only get dry, once in a blue moon i will give them a tiny but of canned. But my rat terrier is as picky as they come, so we have tried many different foods. But farley has never found one he doesnt love. ANd same with people food, and medicine even. You dont even have to hide it from him. Anyway , just wondering if there is anyone else with a yorkie like this. Since all i have read so far is how picky they are. :aimeeyork |
All 4 of mine are little piggies. They live to eat. They even converted the old rescue I took in. At first he wouldn't eat much, now at 17 years of age he's the first one to the kitchen at feeding time. |
Mine's a little piggy too, it doesn't show up on his body much, cause he's too darn active. But my little 3.15lb pup eats 1/4 cup kibble a day, plus two "ice cubes" (my measuring method) of fish per day, plus all the healthy treats I've whipped up for him. It's gotten to a point that I've started measuring his kibble rather than free feeding to make sure he only gets 1/4 cup kibble. Good thing I use Natural Balance dog food rolls as treats... lol little pig. |
oh good! Farley isnt the only little pig. I too have to measure and watch what he gets otherwise he would get very fat im sure!!! |
Both of mine are both picky and pigs ! It depends on if we are eating or not. When it comes to their food, it's nibbles, but, when we sit down to eat a meal, BOTH are right there looking up at us, and anxiously waiting for a treat off of the table. I don't blame them though... If it were me, I'd rather nave nice prime bite sized cuts off of a Steak, than a dry piece of Dog Food.... wouldn't you ! ;) |
You are lucky! Mine won't even eat unless I'm planted right there and sometimes she won't eat until I give her a bite or two. She's spoiled! She has a good appetite. She's just being a spoiled baby, I guess.:p |
All of my little ones are good eaters ranging from eating enough to stay in top form to eating like piglets. |
my 10 month old pixie has a really great appetite! and she also gobbles up medicines without hiding it from her! :) LOL we are very lucky! |
Mine are complete "PIGLETS". I home cook and have never had a problem. When I took my Papillon in she was such a picky little girl and ate next to nothing, but after she got a taste of "real" food, she has gained three pounds and does her little dance and spin at every meal time. :D |
Armani is a PIG- he will eat almost anything and LOTS of it. Chloe on the other hand can be a little picky- for example she doesn't like large kibble pieces and will play with them but not eat them. Put if she has something she likes she could eat ALL DAY LONG! |

Kelsey isn't really picky at all. She eats what I give her. But I don't think she is overly thrilled with dry kibble. But with treats she gobbles them down. I don't give her much people food. |
Both of mine are picky!!! Very picky. They dont like WET food at all and only certain dry foods. Horrible little babies!!!! LOL But, oh, how I love them. |
