RV Travel Do any of you travel with your Yorkies in an RV? If so, how do you protect them during travel? |
I use special harnesses with clips that lock into the seat belts... that way they can lay down and sleep or sit and gaze out the window. They can't fight or get underfoot, and I always know where they are... |

4 Attachment(s) My dad has a nice RV and they take their 3 dogs (I go along occasionally w/ Jackson). They don't strap them in but then again, they don't even strap themselves in (except my dad who is driving). It'd probably be smart to do so. They typically go on the queen size bed and sleep during travel. It's great!!! We set up 3 expens so we have a nice 'fence' for the dogs to walk out the door into. They absolutely LOVE traveling in it. |
RV travel I, in the past just let them sit on the sofa with my husband while traveling. I now have the car seats for them all. So, I will put the car seats on the dinette seats and the sofa. That way they will be safe. They always have slept on the trips. |
When we had the motorhomes, I always just let Levi lay on the couch behind my seat. Now that we are in a truck/ fifth wheel combination, I just strap them into the carseat in the truck. |

Snoozer carseats ..... we use the seatbelts that are on the dinette (booth-type) seats. Just like in the car! Once we get to the campground, we set up their x-pens..... and ALWAYS have their ID tags on them.... (with our cell phone number on it..... wouldn't do any good to have your home number on them if you are away from home.... another good camping tip! ;) ) |

2 Attachment(s) Our motor coach has no seat belts except for the two seats up front. I put the mesh expen behind our seats to keep them from getting up front. They have their beds and pads down and do just great! We did take out the carpet and put bamboo wood down just in case of spills or accidents, so no worry there either. They travel wonderfully. We also take two of the metal expens so we can put them around a patio so they can go in and out. |
