Homemade for Mocha Hii guys!:) Im new here, my Mocha is a year and a half old, he absolutely hates dog food, so im trying to cook him a few days worth of food at home so I can microwave n serve him during dinner times...the other day i spent an hour cooking him brown rice, I added some carrots, potatoes, and chicken breast. As he came close to his dish, he took a few whiffs and turned away. Hes constantly trying to snatch what we're eatting! Any tips on approved homemade meals? thanks guys! -Patricia:) |

Hi and welcome to YT! It is great you are trying to get your picky eater to eat. :D Lord knows it is challenge! Be sure you know the delicate balance that has to exist in giving your doggie the right nutrition when home cooking for them. Please do research on this (if you haven't already:)) and meet with a dog nutritionist. Quality dog foods are specially formulated to meet those nutritional needs and we may miss them when home cooking. I know I don't have the time or the knowledge to home cook, so I personally don't. However, there are some home cookers on YT! Hopefully some of them will chime in here with some solid advice. Again, welcome to YT and good luck on your search for something entice your baby to eat! |

:) thanks! |
Oh! I see you are doing it only a few times a week? Does that mean you are using dog food the rest of the week? There might be less strict requirements for supplement feeding, but I'm not sure since I don't home cook. Again, Hopefully, some of the more experienced will chime in here. I just know that there are strict nutritional needs for pups, which is why I don't personally home cook lol. I'm not up to the challenge! :p I admire you for being so ambitious! |
Puppy food is going to have what your baby nutritionally needs. If you are trying to suppliment with home cooking and he is always trying to take your food, maybe he just wants you to eat it first. Dont laugh,I have a 14 yr old half shepard, half huskey,he hasnt ever been picky until the last year. So if I make chic n rice for him,I take a bite to show him that it is ok,then mix some of his kibble in and he eats it. What we will go through in the name of furbaby love, especially when they are very young or very old. |
