How far is too far?
 
How long of a walk is too long? I'd love to take Brady with me on my morning walks but I'm worried that I may be going too far to take him. How far should be enough before he needs to go home?

I usually take mine back home when they start panting really really bad or start trying to lay down.

Max never seems to get tired,I wish a long walk would tire him out!

Lucy has a hard time keeping up with my bigger Westie; he can walk 3-4 miles and still want more. That's a little far for her; I can see her start panting or trying to turn around and head back for home or for the car.

I hate to leave her home so she goes along and I carry her part of the way. I can tell she's tired when she allows me to carry her for a while. Then she gets restless and wants down and walks some more! If I see her getting tired again; I just pick her back up and give her a ride for a little while.

She's only 5 lbs so it's easy to carry her when she's tired.

I walk for about an hour twice a day. I'd like to do more if I could get the time. I just didn't want to do anything too strenuous on him. He's pretty hyper but an hour might be too much. I really have no idea though.

That's a good idea. I'll just carry the little stinker if he gets tired. :)

mine seem to walk for days if i let them. we jog together because Sadie only knows one speed and it's ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZIIIIIIIIIII IIIIIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!

Jackson can walk for quite a while. I've only seen him get tired once or twice on those REALLY hot days. But generally speaking, he can easily go 5-6 miles and be okay. My friends 6lb'er can also go this long without tiring. We walk an hour per day.
